We recently booked to stay here for our wedding weekend, as the venue was very close by. We had an amazing weekend and the whole family absolutely loved the cottages, which are finished to a really high standard and so comfortable! Matt is a great host and extremely helpful! We will be going back soon!

Great location for us. Out of town so it was very quiet and peaceful, however it took us less than 10 minutes to arrive at Cheshire oaks and similar timing for Cheshire city centre. There are beautiful grounds thoughtfully created with fruit trees that you can help yourself to. Cottages had everything we needed with a nice and big comfy bed. We would definitely return

Beautifully decorated, everything you could possibly need and impeccably clean inside and out. We loved the hot tub and all the little extra touches. Lovely family run business where nothing is too much trouble. We loved seeing the barn owl baby and all the other animals and birds! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a stay near Chester.

Love staying here. Matt and Rachel run some beautiful cottages. Well looked after and lovely place to stay. If you're interested in animals, then have cameras showing things they have on site and often a barn owl nests here. Can't wait for my next visit

Great place for a country break whilst also being near Chester. We went away with our parents and the rooms were great. The beds were really comfortable and on the soft side which was great for us. The kitchen had all the amenities you would need for self catering and even some oil and salt and pepper as well as a welcome basket of tea, hot chocolate and coffee. One of the highlights for us was the proximity to some great pubs and restaurants (the Sunday lunch at Shrewsbury Arms was great). There are some lovely places to walk nearby and if you have small kids the orchard garden has some great entertainment with a lovely book you can buy to support Alder Hey hospital. Another great feature was the owl and bird feeder camera which we thought was great.

Self catering cottage. Big problem with water pressure. We could only run one tap/shower at a time. Spoke to owner about it but not resolved by end of our stay. Very uncomfortable sofa, loose cushions which kept slipping and low back.

We have just got back from 4 nights, staying in The Dairy. One word can sum up our experience, SUPERB. It's as good as the pictures make it look. From start to finish everything was perfect for us. We both slept so well that we have just ordered the same pillows for ourselves. Matt, you couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Definitely our first choice when we next return to the Chester area. p.s. whilst it's rural it is also perfectly located for getting around the area.

We have just got back from 4 nights here. We stayed in The Dairy, and it is as stunning as the pictures make it look. You have all your amenities to make you feel right at home, it is cosy and so peaceful. You are about 10 mins from both Chester Center and Cheshire Oaks, so if you fancy a day out you can venture there. Everything about this get away was perfect, thank you Matt and Rachel, we will definitely be back soon.

Just heading home from a stay at The Haybarn. We had a lovely stay. The property and grounds are beautiful. Added extra of the wildlife cameras which we were lucky to see the barn owl on our first night. Plenty of pubs and restaurants, shops and attractions within a ten minute drive of the property. A much needed relaxing break, no faults.

Lower Farm Holiday Cottages provided us with a brilliant base to visit the area in and around Chester. The location is handy for visiting Chester zoo, Cheshire Oaks and the city centre. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with the added bonus of the hot tub (which we used every day) and lots of information about local places to visit and to eat. The owners have set up webcams around the cottages so we were able to watch birds on the feeders, including woodpeckers, a roosting owl and some llamas. We will definitely book a cottage at Lower Farm again when we next visit Chester.
