   In my personal experience, this company raised serious concerns regarding the handling of my personal data, particularly in relation to GDPR requirements. Throughout my interactions, I did not feel confident that my information was being managed securely or professionally. When I questioned how my data had been used, the explanations I received did not reassure me. In my view, the responses lacked clarity and did not address the key issues I had raised. This left me uncertain whether proper data-handling procedures were being followed. A particularly troubling part of my experience was receiving documents that appeared to contain another person’s sensitive personal information. To me, this felt like a potential breach of confidentiality and raised further doubts about the company’s internal controls and overall GDPR awareness. When I attempted to escalate my concerns, I did not feel that the matter was taken seriously. From my perspective, the company did not accept liability for what had happened, nor did I feel they acknowledged the impact the situation had on my trust or peace of mind. The communication I received left me feeling unsupported and frustrated. Based on my personal experience, I left feeling extremely uneasy about the company’s approach to data protection, accountability, and customer care. I would encourage others to carefully consider whether they are comfortable with the organisation’s standards of professionalism and GDPR compliance.

   Just sold a house and brearleys dealt with the conveyancing. I wouldn’t normally leave a review for a solicitor but have to say that Emma Whitton was exceptionally efficient with excellent communication and speed. I will definitely work with Emma and brearleys again, highly recommend.

   Stacey Spencer was our Solicitor, who recently acted for us for a purchase of a property. She was incredible from start to finish; we never had to chase her, we were well informed throughout the entire process and she was polite and explained everything as we required. She made the process run so smoothly and calmly with no stress. I truly couldn’t recommend her more. Our purchase took exactly 12 weeks to go through from the point of putting in an offer to completing.

   We had a VERY POOR experience using Brealeys when purchasing Our home which led to the SALE FALLING through please be AWARE this is NOT the firm to use when Purchasing your New House All you will get is LIES and no one will EVER get back to YOU. BE AWARE !!!!

   I want to begin with the work was fully complete. However the service was unbelievably appalling, no communication, no one knows whats going on, This started in January 2022 and its just been completed. Now everyone is entitled to holidays of course but when the solicitor doesn't even know whats going on and then she leaves people who know even less whats going on, thats a BIG problem. I single piece of paper took me two weeks to get hold of, I just got that today because I called every half an hour until someone did their job. Now I look at reviews for places and I see good and bad but always give someone a chance (BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART) please I am warning anyone who needs a solicitor regarding buying a house DONT USE THESE. You'll thank me for it in the long run. Good luck everyone

   **EDIT*** The head of department has rang me and has assured me that they have paid the penalty and was super apologetic. My solicitor has since left the firm hence the email bouncing. For reaching out to me and courtesy of explaining, I've amended my review from 1 star to 3. Thank you Jessica. During the house buying process, brearleys were frustrating to deal with through lack of communication and poor time management. I almost lost my house because they didn't tell me when to close my help to buy isa and subsequently a few days after that for the funds to be released. Believe it or not, this is not what i am complaining about! I have now lived in my house for 4 months and have received a letter from HMRC with a penalty of £200 because land registry wasn't completed and stamp duty was not paid. I bought a shared ownership property so the stamp duty does not apply. When emailing my solicitor about why the land registry hadn't been filed, I had discovered she had blocked my email address. Very unprofessional and I will be taking this further. I shouldn't have to pay a penalty because of an incompetent, over priced law firm have not done their job. Disappointed to the Nth degree.

   If it wasn't for Tricia Langton don't think I'd of gave any stars. This lady is a credit to the company. Was with 2 other solicitors previous with company who couldn't be bothered to inform when on leave or go through a pile, that my mother's mortgage was sitting in. Again Tricia worked hard to secure the mortgage that was about to elapse in a week's time which a previous solicitor at the company knew about but decided not inform when going on leave. If you choose this company choose Tricia Langton.
