I stayed here will my family in August 2022 and is was mediocre. As I needed to stay on the Wirral for work just recently I thought I would use Hoylake again. Only to be turned away as it is being now a refugee camp.

Couldn’t stay here as it now houses home office guests. We’d stayed before and it was great.

Heard it's been handed over to Asylum seekers for the next year at the cost of the tax payer so will not bother to stay there ever.

Hotel closed 1st November, no prior notice to this happening. Residents told to leave immediately with little explanation, NDA was signed for the property being sold and become private residence. IHG says they are unaware. Not how a hotel should be run. Hotel now being used for immigrants.

Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean hotel with a very nice breakfast. Would certainly recommend.

A good location for Hoylake and West Kirby. Hoylake Station is just a 8 minute walk away. You can catch a 20 minute train service to Liverpool Central. The hotel is very near the promenade, restaurants and shops. When we stopped in early December 2021 the hotel was very quiet. Which was fine by us. The room was large enough for two, daily housekeeping if you wanted it, bed comfortable. Could have done with an extra chair. The breakfast was poor. Watery scrambled powdered eggs. Bacon like shoe leather. Stodgy baked beans, toast and that was it for the English. Cereals, yogurt cartons, croissants for the continental. There was a restaurant attached but it was closed during our stay. We liked the place, very handy for everything, staff very helpful and room comfortable. I wouldn't bother getting up for the breakfast.

Decent rooms, decent WiFi, decent breakfast but get down early before the rest of the guests (particularly children) have finished messing about with the food that has been left out. In these Covid times it is not particularly pleasant watching people picking the food up with their hands, inspecting it and then putting it back again. In particular, the golfers seem to be self centred enough not to use the sanitiser provided, and not keep to the 3 person rule in place around the food area.

Friendly staff, nicely fitted rooms and close to the sea. Breakfast seating is in an open plan ground floor foyer which I find a bit exposed to through traffic from the entrance, otherwise I'd consider giving it 5 stars. Definitely a good option when visiting the Wirral.

Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were so friendly. The double bed was nice but would recommend king. Couldn't get the cool setting on the radiator to work so was fairly warm all night and no mirror over the desk meant having to get ready sitting on the floor in front of the full length mirror, but all easily solved I'm sure!

I've just been to wedding here. It's very modern looking and the food at the buffet was nice although not much choice. Car parking was a bit strange you need to register your number plate but people we're unsure if that applied if you were a guest at the wedding.
