I recently used this solicitors for the sale of my property and my onward purchase, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. Communication was extremely poor throughout the process. Calls were rarely returned, and I often had to chase repeatedly for updates. On several occasions I was told an assistant would contact me, but nobody followed up. Because of delays and miscommunication, I also incurred an additional fee that I believe could have been avoided with better organisation and clearer guidance. Buying and selling a home is stressful enough, and I expected a more proactive and responsive service. Sadly, I wouldn’t feel confident using this solicitor again or recommending them based on my experience.

I wouldn’t recommend at all for a transfer of equity. I wasn’t a client but a party to the transaction. Not responsive to emails, I was cc’d on many, aware of conflict of interest so often responses couldn’t come to me directly but even when a response was required from me, when I called never answered. Very rude whenever the phone is finally picked up. Switchboard must be fed up to the back teeth of people going through them. I would remove direct dial contacts off email signatures because even when people use them there is no answer. Original TR1 sent out for signature had the wrong amount stated (amount differed by £7k so not a typo) and as the form was posted (despite asking if we could go in to sign to speed up the process) this caused unnecessary delays. The firm are on Santander’s approved panel however, when the TR1 was sent to Santander for sealing there was an error on the form and so a clause had to be amended. Again, all via post, no one appears to use the phone anymore, and so this added almost 2 weeks to the timeline. I sent the bank details for payment of funds twice; once at original engagement and then when I sent the signed TR1 back to Graysons. However, at 2PM on the scheduled completion date I received an email asking where the funds should go! Solicitor advised funds could not be paid until final bill had been settled. Luckily we sorted this pretty quickly however, it still took a further 2 hours until funds were received and matters finalised. The solicitor knew this transaction was connected to an onward purchase yet funds didn’t get sent through until the final moments. The lack of organisation and forward thinking has made an already stressful time even more so. Price was reasonable however, now realising you get exactly what you pay for. I couldn’t wait for this whole process to be over and when paying for ‘professionals’, I’m not so sure that’s how you should feel once matters are complete. Stay clear for a transfer of equity for sure.

Absolutely appalling communication , near impossible to get hold of anyone that’s handleing your case let alone just to get a simple update!! I’ve rang every week for nearly 2 months and I’m still waiting on a call back that I’m assuming I’ll never receive!! Regret ever going with this company and never will in the future if needed. Even attempted to ring again today and once again can’t get hold of anyone that’s handleing my case!!! I advise others to go elsewhere or look around first before even considering going here.

Unreachable, Slow and unhelpful. Never did I think it’d be so stressful and I would have to work so hard to get anything out of my solicitors. It has taken almost 6 months to sell my house. There is no chain on either end. The communication is worse than poor. I gave up counting how many times the receptionist informed me that they were “on their lunch break” or “it went to voicemail”, I’d ask them to ring me back or return my emails. Not once was one phone call returned. Only when setting up an in person meeting was I sent all the bits of paper work that myself, the buyers solicitors and my estate agent had been chasing for. Really unprofessional, seriously consider going elsewhere for your own peace of mind.

Absolutely awful. We were doing a transfer of equity which should have taken 4-6 weeks which you'd think should be straight forward. It's taken 6 months to complete and getting hold of them most weeks has been a nightmare, its a wonder they get any work done because communication is shocking. We were told there were some bigger cases being completed first such as house sales, which is ridiculous. We had cash sat waiting for months and in the meantime have had harassment from the person we bought out because its taken so long. Information was recorded wrongly to begin with and they didn't seem to know what day it was! Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone and certainly wouldn't use this company again.

The wills and probate section were shockingly poor, characterised by delays, errors and omissions to the point where one had to wonder if they were being intentionally obstructive. At a time of grieving the last thing anyone needs is the stress and hassle they caused. Avoid at all costs. The first meeting was with an unkempt individual wearing jeans and a sweatshirt who gave two pieces of advice which directly contradicted the government website. We asked for a different person to deal with, and now regret greatly not walking away at that point. There were far too many delays, errors and omissions to list here. One of the most frustrating incidents related to the sale of the house. The house sale could not be completed until probate was granted. When we were eventually told we had probate we discovered it had actually been granted four weeks previously, but neither us or the conveyancing solicitor (also Graysons) had been informed! The house sale was then delayed a further four months as one purchaser in the chain had pulled out due to the delay. Another notable frustration was that once the house sale completed, the money received from the sale stayed in Graysons account. If they had been organised they could have started paying out immediately, however it took many emails and phone calls before they started paying out two weeks later - this was largely due to a small error in the estate accounts which I pointed out weeks earlier and took only a minute or two to correct.

Couldn’t recommend Graysons enough for that they did with our probate matter. From start to finish, Ellie has been our angel over the last several months and we can’t thank her enough. When it came to conveyancing regarding our property, Claire and Meriet moved mountains what turned out to be a complicated matter regarding the sale due to unforeseen circumstances. Again, thanks to Graysons for making a hard time easier for us.

I have recently had dealings with Graysons Solicitors in respect of Probate matters and also for preparing a Will and LPA’s for both my wife and myself. Ellie Bowater dealt with Probate and Jasmin Emsley dealt with the Will’s and LPA’s. I was very impressed by both Ellie and Jasmin who acted in a very professional manner. Their communication skills were first class and explained everything in detail and kept us up to date on a regular basis. All relevant documentation was completed and was well presented. Timelines and goals were achieved as promised. Both Ellie and Jasmin are a credit to your Company. I didn't have a preference in Solicitor but I would certainly recommend Graysons to my family and friends.

One of the conveyancing staff literally yelled down the phone at me. After numerous attempts to log a complaint and chase the matter, it was annoyed and never followed up. The process did take longer for intrinsic reasons however poor service from the first conveyor delayed the matter a lot and added a lot of stress.
