A very disappointing experience. I entered into an agreement with Magnet to replace the kitchen of my 1-bed apartment. They outsourced the installation to KWP & Sons. The project was meant to last a month. But ended up lasting four. Written working schedules were agreed but then frequently not kept. Communication with the fitters was very difficult. A number of items were installed in a way that during the Magnet site visit they were agreed that they need to be replaced. For several months I had been in contact with the Islington branch manager to try to solve the various challenges. Sadly, despite having asked frequently to be provided with different fitters, my request was not followed. I had also asked to speak to someone higher up in the chain – this request was also denied. Additionally, I was in contact with customer services (Ticket: 221488). I have costs and charges outstanding for repairs and cleaning which arose as a result of the works. I was assured in writing by KWP that this would be paid, however, despite numerous chasers, I have not received the agreed compensation.

If you’re looking for a perfect kitchen - go to this branch and ask for Danielle specifically. I spent months trying to find my perfect kitchen. Spoke to designers at Howdens who cared very little about my vision. I sat down with Danielle and within 90 minutes we had a plan, a range, a design and lots of goodies thrown in for free. I’m overjoyed, it’s been totally seamless throughout and they’ve been quick to send a few small missing pieces as well. Thank you so so much for this kitchen - I honestly love it dearly.

From this to that thanks to Magnet in Islington and our builders. If the tiling looks wonky I did that! Meanwhile local team were very helpful and went the extra mile.

Don’t use Magnet. We went to Magnet earlier in the year to replace our kitchen, going through the meticulous planning process and spending a considerable amount of time going back and forth to ensure that the plan was perfect. At the beginning of the process, we instructed Louise at Magnet that we would be opting for the interest free credit option to pay for the kitchen (as the total cost was very high) and not something we could pay upfront, and she said that would be fine. When we finally got everything to the point where we were happy to proceed, we were told that we would need to pay an initial deposit of 10%. I had checked my credit report not long before this and confirmed that I had the highest score you can achieve. I therefore had very little doubt that all would go smoothly and that credit would be approved by their financial services department. We also booked a slot with the fitting team to come out and replace the kitchen as we were certain of going ahead. When we finally went through the process, I was told that I had failed the credit score but was given no clear reason as to why. I spoke to their credit department directly and they could also give me no clear indication as to why I was not approved the funds. With this in mind we had no choice but to cancel the order and at this point I asked when I would receive my initial deposit back. Louise advised that they would return the deposit minus a fee for the fitter who came out to take all the appropriate measurements. At no point during the process was this mentioned to us. Magnet have since paid some of the deposit back to us, but we are still waiting for over £600.00 to be returned. The whole process has been very arduous, wasting a lot of our time and energy and all we have to show for it is a loss of some of our deposit (which was never explained to us in the first place).

Excellent service! Danielle at Magnet Islington was a great help all the way from design to post delivery. Very proactive, personable, and willinging to answer our questions. Designing was an enjoyable experience with her. We were given time to design and decide. A number of other kitchen providers rushed the experience, using expiring offers to pressure deposits. The products themselves are good quality. We got a fair price for quality. The wall cabinets have depth to hold plates etc whereas other kitchen providers skip on this. Doors and backboards also thick. Delivery team helpful, and carried everything up 2 flights of stairs. We installed the kitchen ourselves. Danielle was on hand to answer questions post delivery, during installation. One small piece of feedback. Other kitchen providers do laser measurements, instead of tape. This would be helpful for kitchens such as ours which don't have 90degree corners.

Nice kitchens, but very poor service. We came here for an appointment to discuss a new kitchen. The designer was not very helpful and was not able to offer meaningful support. We felt like we were shopping blind. For example, they were not able to explain what the cost difference would be between laminate and granite worktops. They just said "choose what you want and we'll price it up at the end". The quote came over several days later at £40k !!!! We didn't bother going back to them. We went to Wickes on Tottenham Court Road instead and received a MUCH better service - and went with them instead.

I can’t comment on the design output or the ordering process but I attended a meeting and discussed requirements and have been waiting over 2 months for the design to be produced and have emailed and called to chase a number of times but no response from Danielle. Really disappointed.

Absolutely disappointing and unprofessional customer service- do not waste your time and money. I made such big mistake of ignoring some negative comments before the purchase.

Don’t waste your time. After attending an appointment over 1 month ago, they “forgot” to follow up with a quote. When I called a week later, they said the quote was “stuck in outbox and would be sent today”. After another two weeks of no email or replies, they said they couldn’t find our quote and didn’t have evidence of our visit. Since that point, they haven’t answered their phone. Overall really bad experience and will be going with another provider for our home renovation.

Been here a few times for advise and for a design consultation. The lady was quite huffy and rude as we were spending quite a bit of time deciding on fixtures and figuring out the design which is a very normal part of the process I should think. As for the prices ….they are extortionate! We were looking for a higher spec kitchen and set aside a budget but in all honesty this place just isn’t it.
