   Debden This guesthouse is awful, dirty and very very old. The place needs a serious upgrade. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I had made a terrible mistake. This guesthouse feels and looks like a bedsit than a guesthouse. The hallway paper and carpet look as old as time. I stayed in Room 8. The location is good, the room is a good size, the TV works, the microwave and fridge (albeit noisy) are also handy. The microwave needed a proper clean, I could see oil stains on the walls of the microwave and there’s no microwave cover. When I arrived the room was stone cold, the heaters are all rusted with broken knobs. I eventually turn what I could and waited for it to heat up (I left for a few hours to visit family) on return at 9pm it still hadn’t heated up, there was pool of water and I had to call management to sort. Granted they came fairly quickly and resolved the issue but once the heater came on they NEVER went off and I ended having to open the window in the middle of winter to get some ventilation. Unfortunately I couldn’t open the furthest window from the bed as it was broken so I was constantly hit from hot and cold air. The beds are below average. I found hair under the pillow of the single bed and underneath the bed is absolutely filthy (my children’s toys rolled under so I had the not so great pleasure). The floor boards are rickety. Room service was next to none and my sheet and towels were never changed in the 5 nights I stayed The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. It smelled like urine all through my stay. There was mold and dirt in both the shower and sink and of course more unwanted hair everywhere. The wood work is worn out and dilapidated. There’s nowhere to hang towels, I had to use the coat hanger. The bathroom heater was old and rusty. The doors are old and almost off its screws. I turned off the bathroom extractor as it was so noisy. My stay here was completely ruined by this bedsit style guesthouse. I was counting down the days to leave. The bathroom for me was the absolute worst. I will never return or recommend. The room needs a complete upgrade.

   We used this location for only one night, which was good enough for our requirements on this visit. Don't expect too much; nevertheless, the rates are fair for what you get. The lady present was friendly and helpful. Free parking - definitely a plus - easy access to London by car from here.

   Best place to stay! We stayed there for a few days and the service was amazing, better than a lot of hotels I've been to. Although it was evening, as soon as I called they picked up in a matter of seconds! The rooms are luxurious and definitely worth the price with great facilities such as a kettle microwave,iron and iron board!

   We stayed in ground floor room 1 which has, ensuite a double bed and three single beds for our family of five. Parking was easy as there appeared to be few bookings at the time we stayed. I can imagine the carpark would be chaotic if the guest house is fully booked, as spaces would be tight. Good points - Our room had basic facilities like fridge, kettle, microwave and a small desk with chair. The beds were adequate and I managed to get sleep.The guest house was relatively easy to find and within shouting distance of central London. Bad points - the light above my bed was broken and could not be switched on. The heating was off and we had to wear extra layers in bed to keep warm. The fan in the ensuite was very loud and would come on when you are trying to sleep. The tap to the wash basin was an over styled fountain type, which made filling of the kettle difficult, and I found it got in the way to much. The shower was in disrepair with the vinyl floor lifting where it joins the tray, allowing water to leak into the floor. Besides a heated towel rail there was no other areas to place your towels. Overall the guest house ticks a box for it's close location to airport and London though it needs a spruce or at least more routine maintenance of it's facilities.

   In the bathroom, there's nowhere to put clothes except on the toilet lid. Nowhere to place soap, shampoo etc in shower, no hand towel to dry hands after toilet. No heater in bathroom And luke warm shower for around 2 minutes, then COLD WATER!! Only one combined toilet/shower for everyone in the house, which means a very long queue at any time. Downstairs guests have to walk upstairs for toilet, which is a pain in the middle of the night. It's a dump and I so regret booking here.

   The room was very nice, small but clean and functional, having a little fridge freezer and a microwave in the room was very helpful, there was no check Inn but there was always someone responding to the doorbell. Very nice quiet area and private parking outside so that was a great option for someone driving there. I would definitely recommend this place.

   The headline of this awful. Where can I start? We are a family of four. Staying in room 6. To be fair the two single beds were fine but the double bed is uncomfortable and noisy that when anybody turns over it wakes everybody up. But it won't matter because at night any emergency vehicle coming by will light up the room due to the inadequate blinds (no curtains here) or somebody pulls into the car park. It's nice and warm, mostly because the windows don't open far enough to ventilate the room properly. So after a nice disturbed sleep it's time for a refreshing shower. Well if it could be called a shower, I'd say more of a dribble. As soon as somebody else in the building flushes the toilet or turns on their shower the flow reduces to almost nothing. We had to stagger our showers with our friend in room 5. You won't want to stay in the shower too long as you risk the glass shelf falling off. The toilet is fine but the extractor fan makes such a racket. It would be nice for the four occupants to of had somewhere to put something. Wardrobes do exist and maybe more than once chair in a room of four? Positives? The WiFi is nice and fast and there is a fridge and microwave. To be fair the room was quite clean but everything needs painting or replacing.

   Just back from an overnight stay at the Debdean guest house. Presently surprised for what we paid it was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed plus a fridge and microwave. A little bit too far out of London as it cost more in taxi fairs than it did to stay the night. Would stay there again, unfortunately the tube was not operating this weekend. Well done Debdean a great little find.

   Good for a family of 5. The "remote access" is strange, you just talk to the owner through an intercom (or by phone) but it works fine. The room #10 (for 5 persons) is fine, but the curtains are not dark enough so it is not easy to sleep after the sunrise. The bathroom is ok but has 2 defaults : - it is upstairs and when you are a family of 5 people to go there from the ground floor, you make a lot of noise, and the stairs are particularly noisy. - the shower system is strange and has a really low pressure, which is not very nice to rince the soap. It was globally a good experience, thanks!
