If anyone is heading to Holmfirth, this is such a perfect stop off. Warm, welcoming, fantastic food. All the staff are wonderful and even have great coffee. Dogs welcome and huge play area. Cannot recommend enough And we highly recommend you try the burger!! The local butchers meat is flavoursome. Taste sensation :)

Popped in for a pint and a bag of crisps with the family. Welcoming and friendly staff, who offered helpful and good service. A nice pint of cask, and drunks were well priced. I believe they have new owners, and hope everything goes well for them. The food choices sounded good and we may pop back for a bite to eat next time we're over that way.

We had a lovely meal at the weekend. We had the steak flat bread, meat and potato pie and steak and chips with gorgeous homemade chips! Also 2 for £12 on Aperol spritz.

The home made chips are back!! I can honestly say they have definitely been worth the wait! My Daughter also highly rates the chocolate fudge cake. Can’t wait to sample the rest of the new home made menu. Michael & Amber & the rest of the staff are absolutely wonderful and always greet you with a warm & welcoming smile. They’ve worked so hard to try and get this pub back to its best and I really hope it pays off for them. The transformation inside is amazing, so light & bright and the bar looks fantastic. Safe to say we will be regular visitors!

Had early evening meal with three friends. Unfortunately the place was almost empty with no atmosphere at all. Food ok but not brilliant. Two meals were quite good and two poor think they had been kept warm under a light. Not cheap for pub food and choice limited.

Hard to get excited about a Sunday roast, until you visit the British Oak. Absolutely fabulous. Generous serving of meat. As I moved my veg more meat appeared. All cooked to perfection, but the real treat believe it or not was the grated red cabbage. It was like the food of the gods. Who'd have believed it. A dedicated carnivore raving about red cabbage. Gorgeousness on a plate.
