I recently stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Croydon for two nights and had a very mixed experience. While the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, the physical stay fell short of expectations. The Pros: * Service: The staff members were polite and genuinely tried to assist whenever I brought up a concern. * Problem-solving: When I reported a broken thermostat, they quickly arranged for a heater to be placed in my room. The Cons: * Room Comfort: Upon arrival, my window was left open and the thermostat was broken. This made for a very cold first night. * Breakfast: I found the breakfast selection disappointing. There were no continental options like fruit salad or yogurt. While there is a DIY waffle station, if that isn’t your preference, the options feel quite limited. English breakfast wasn't the best but did the job. * Major Security Concern: The most concerning part of my stay occurred on the second day. After the staff delivered the portable heater to my room while I was out, they failed to secure my door. I returned to find my room door insecure, which is a serious safety and privacy oversight. Verdict: I appreciate the kindness of the team, but between the lack of basic climate control and the security lapse regarding my room door, I’m not sure I would stay here again.

Lovely hotel with nice and modern rooms and so convenient by being located right beside East Croydon Station. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection of choices and for everyones tastes. We stayed a few days. Special thanks to Manoj who provided us with an attentive and excellent service.

Have stayed in this hotel regulary when watching match at Crystal Palace. Only steps from East Croydon station which is directly connected with LGW, but also good access from LCY or LHR airports. Love the hospitality of Mr. Manoj responsible for the great F&B and his wife at the frontdesk. Rooms are being refurbished and this defenitely is an improvement. I defenitely recommend this hotel.

This is a nice modern hotel. The showers were great. The room was great. It was quiet. We skipped the buffet, and instead took an Uber into Paris and had brunch at a really nice restaurant. When it was time for us to catch our flight, the shuttle took us right to the terminal. Highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing stay at Hampton by Hilton. Everyone was really accommodating and friendly. They were all very helpful and they looked after us so well. The room was clean and tidy. They even remembered to prepare my son's waffle the following morning! We will definitely come back to stay again.

First time in this hotel. In city centre, very close to public transport, no car park but Ruskin Square parking opposite the hotel and the ticket can get validated. Room smaller than expected but we'll equipped. Service great! If I remember correctly the name of the staff- Menaj- went out of his way- evening and breakfast - to help. I saw another guest going and thanking staff for the service, and said he's been using the hotel frequently and they are always very helpful. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Lovely comfy clean rooms on seventh floor. However, that is about all that I can say positively about our stay there. We were a group of 12 people who stayed there for 2 nights. Between us witnessed 2 separate drug deals taking place on the street during the evening and early mornings of our stay. These deals took place on the pavement directly outside the hotel entrance. There were also large groups of rowdy local youths hanging around, smoking weed, drinking, and playing music out there as well. Even as a group of 12, there were some amongst us that felt unsafe walking past. Some of our group were on the second floor and were kept awake by noise during the night. Swearing drunks and people shouting up at apartments opposite hotel negotiating money for drugs. The breakfast is bad. Not a great selection of items to eat. Scrambled eggs were gritty and horrible on both days. It seemed like they were made with egg powder rather than fresh eggs. No fresh fruit, no dried fruit, no porridge and juice was not fresh but a mix of concentrated flavoured syrup and water. All in all, none of our group would ever stay at this hotel or this location again.

I stayed for about 6 nights here, as it's handy to the bus and train I needed to get to work. But the environment is rather bleak, being in the no man's land ( along with other hotels) between East and West Croydon stations. I was struck by the decidedly South Asian predominance of staff, and assume it is partly Asian owned. But their reception and service is always smooth and friendly. My room was medium sized (Jury's Inn has bigger ones) but there was a fridge and good hanging space. Each room though, has different access to TV channels, and often only a small selection. I must mention the attentive and versatile service from Manoj, whose wife works on reception. He just can't do too much for you. To my surprise, there were large parties of European tourists on some days, making breakfast hectic and crowded between 8 and 9 am. And rooms are not at all cheap here for solo travelers. A bonus is the low prices for dinner in the restaurant, compared to nearby Jury's Inn. The plates are modest size, but well cooked. I took a rather surreal photo of the bar, with a huge selection of bright bottles. But alas, they offer no mixed cocktails at all!

Staff were very friendly; I booked this hotel because it was a good price. and also the location near the train station is very convenient. there were plenty of staff to help me check-in. And at breakfast the waiters were bringing food to my table and making waffles, being beyond helpful. the rooms are a little smaller than I was expecting.

Great hotel, service is incredible! We stayed here for two nights and the morning after our first night, we realized an issue with the shower in our room draining slowly. We checked at the front desk on our way out for the day and they promised to change our room and move our luggage to the new room while we were out. When we returned, everything had been moved as promised. Every single staff member who helped us was extremely friendly and efficient. This location was a great central spot for us and if we're ever staying at a hotel in Croydon again, it WILL be this one.
