DO NOT BOOK!! This location is not safe! The room smelled strongly of human urine (my eyes are still irritated from it), there were mice droppings, the carpet was chewed, old food was left in the room, and there was a burnt electric cable on a chair. The filthiest place I’ve ever set foot in. Terrifying experience.

I had a wonderful stay at London Apart Hotel! The rooms were recently refurbished, and you could tell – everything felt fresh, modern, and exceptionally clean. The new décor was stylish and comfortable, making it a great space to unwind after a day of exploring the city. The location couldn't have been better – it’s right in the heart of London, making it easy to visit all the iconic sights like the British Museum, Covent Garden, and the West End. Whether you're here for sightseeing or just to enjoy the city's vibrancy, this hotel is the perfect base. Highly recommended!

I know that one can not expect much from "cheap" London hotels, but this was a class of its own. There were mouse droppings all over the floor, as well as in the kitchen. I had to carry the hoover down the stair and clean it myself! The rubbish bin had not been emptied and the surfaces in both kitchen and bathroom were covered in grime and had not been even wiped down in what seemed like a long time. I will not stay here again, and would not recommend it to anyone, even seasoned travellers. You can do better than this.

This place is disgusting and it’s a shame that VRBO, Expedia, other platforms allow it to be booked. As all the other reviews here highlight, the electrical is shoddy, the kitchen was unusable and the floors and bathrooms were extremely dirty.

Not clean, mice! I was here on a businesstrip. The first room we got (4 people) was only one bed and a couch, no clean sheets, used Tupperware with food, looked like someone was living there. Turns out they actually do, the owner stood in our room the next day, only underpants. The apartment we got afterward was visibly ok (until you looked under the couch). There was MICE in both the living room and one of the bedrooms, the kitchen was not very inviting to use etc… Wouldn’t recommend overall.

Synopsis The hotel misrepresented all aspects of the hotel rooms, cleaning processes, and maintenance of the hotel The hotel misrepresented the check in procedure: The hotel info states: • Check-in time starts at 9:00 AM • Check-in time ends at 6:00 PM • Minimum check-in age is: 18 • The front desk is open daily from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. If you are planning to arrive after 6:00 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation. Front desk staff will greet guests on arrival. Our experience: • The door was locked and unresponsive to knocking. o The number provided with the booking confirmation went to voice mail and said that the mailbox was full, and no message could be left. • The door had a paper identifying two phone numbers that “Arrivals” could call. o Both numbers went to voice mail and said that the mailbox was full, and no message could be left. • We called Expedia and described the problem. They called both numbers and any other numbers they may have had available and were unable to make contact with the hotel. o After about an hour, Expedia offered to cancel the reservation because there was no check in available. o At about the same time, another couple trying to check in managed to make contact with the hotel owner via another booking service. At that time, I was able to talk to the owner and he assured us someone would arrive to check us in. • After about a half hour we were shown our room after being required to carry our bags up two flights of stairs because the elevator was inoperative. This was very hard for my wife who has had five joint replacements. o We inspected the room and found that the bathroom ceiling was leaking directly over the toilet and that the toilet floor was rotting because of this. We informed the person showing us the room that this was totally unacceptable, and he agreed. o The person suggested that there was another room, another flight up, and we informed him this was unacceptable unless there was an operating lift. He informed us that there was very little reason to believe that the lift would be repaired during our visit. As a result, we informed him this apartment was unacceptable without viewing it. It is probable that the water leak originated from that apartment and was another reason to avoid it. o We were told that there was a ground floor apartment that was much smaller. We examined it and determined that the small bed was too small and lumpy to the point of being useless. o We were told by the person helping us that the only remaining, available, apartment was in the basement and was not suitable for any extended stay. • We informed the person helping us that we would ask Expedia to cancel our reservation without penalty for nonperformance and he called the owner. The owner asked us to wait five minutes until he arrived. The owner arrived and suggested that only one, larger, first floor apartment remained and might be available but that he needed to check how much we had paid. It became obvious to me that if it was offered it would be at an additional charge and I declined to wait. It was also clear to me that the apartment must be subject to the leak from the floor of the apartment we had been shown. This, and the general disregard of maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel I had observed, contributed to my decision to leave. Our experience: 1. We observed the other couple complain that their room had not been cleaned. o They noted that pieces of clothing from the last guest were present in the room. o The sheets had not been changed. o The floor was dirty. 2. The hotel is old. This is not, in itself, a problem but the hotel is not clean. 3. The hotel did not inspect the rooms for problems prior to check in. 4. The extent of the water damage, nonfunctional elevator, and self-described poor b

Horrible. Dirty, unhealthy, bathroom uncleaned at our arrival and room never cleaned during our 4-night stay, towels never changed. The reception staff was never available. No invoice, no check-out, nobody was there when we left! It's a scandal and illegal to manage a hotel in such bad conditions. Only positive point: the location. I'll never come back again nor I recommend it.

This hotel is a SCAM! We arrived at 12am on Saturday to check in to find no one at the hotel). After waiting 30mins and thinking maybe the concierge was on a lunch break, we went away and came back at 1pm. Still no one there. After numerous phone calls and the owner promising to be there at 3pm, we waited until 5:30pm at the hotel with 4 other separate parties also all waiting to check in and no one arrived the whole time! We hadn’t booked any other accommodation as we thought someone would eventually pitch. The owner stopped answering my calls and they went straight to voicemail. After having to make a last minute plan on a Saturday night in London (which is extremely expensive), the hotel is now refusing to refund any our money!! Absolutely shocking! Do NOT book at the Kensington Apart Hotel.

Avoid this place... Not comfortable, clean or even safe! We enjoy staying in places which have their own charm ard aren't just another modern box.... this place is far from that! It was very dirty; we found used cotton buds on the floor in bedroom, the cups/cutlery in kitchen were put away dirty, the hob in kitchen needs to be cleaned, counter top in kitchen hadn't been washed, dust everywhere, carpet had been vacuumed but is very stained, bath is very stained and bathroom needs to be thoroughly washed. There was no hot water from the taps, the central heating had to be manually turned on/off and it had water leaking through its controls (potential electrical hazard here). One of the bedrooms was a converted balcony (is this even allowed?). The roof in this room was plastic and was leaking onto the wooden floor. The floor under the leak was coming away with sharp edges protruding, resulting in one of our young children tripping and falling against the wall. The entire apartment smelled of stale smoke. We had to leave after one night due to the long list of problem with this apartment. We informed staff of the issue with the hot water, in the morning, and were told it would be fixed that day however this was not resolved when we returned later in the day and there was nobody at reception, so our only option was to check in somewhere else at our own expense. I am not sure if this block is even up to safety standards, our room certainly has a number of hazards which could cause electric shock or even fire..
