Kind of meh. Took me half an hour to check in, a very busy server finally took pity on me and got a manager for me who finally checked me in. Room is, well, nothing to write home about, really. The windows are dirty, with dust and cobwebs, they clearly havent been cleaned in ages, and dont open all the way. Also, the view is atrocious. All I can see is bins. (See photos) Upside: comfortable bed, clean bathroom, walk in shower (score!) restaurant is also quite nice but very very busy, at least in the evening. The rooms are also very VERY dim. Stand out feature: Great location, directly across from the train station, which takes you directly to London city center. Quite cheap when I booked (Β£600 for 6 nights in October 2025) Also: Free parking!!!

Decent value for money - nothing fancy but having stayed at several of the local "5-star" hotels costing twice as much, this is just easier - has parking, food, drink, and whilst the rooms aren't anything special or modern, they're comparable to up-priced alternatives. Customer service was a bit brusque (feels like they're trying to do too much with too few) but at least efficient if not overly friendly. Would stay again.

Really handy for the station. Only complaint was the girl on the check-in desk just walked off when she saw us arriving, without a word. Apart from her, the staff were friendly. Room was perfectly fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast was good; we found it was cheaper to pay on the day than to add it to the room when booking.

The room was fine and clean, beds were comfortable, quiet room. Very well situated; train station directly across the road. We did not get a proper welcome/ no explanation about anything, (for example about breakfast options). But this was maybe because we arrived late, we ordered a drink at the bar, but we did not get it because the bar was closing(there were still people sitting in the bar). We had a long journey and we would have loved something to drink. It was just a tiny gesture he could have made, in our opinion. Saturday evening we came back late, so we called the number on the door for assistance, someone came to the door and told us we need to take the front door, we thought, he might as well, could have openned the door for us. When checking out nu questions asked about our stay for example if we were satisfied. It is just a little effort to be of service and be friendly. This is what we missed. Room was perfect.

The staff were very lovely, they worked with a smile on their face which was refreshing. The room was clean, bedding towels, bathroom etc. The heater was easy to work and warmed up the room relatively quickly. The only thing missing was a hairdryer which was disappointing.

Very nice place to stay. Room was lovely and clean. However on checking out which I had to do at 6am. The number I tried calling for assistance to drop off keys or to ask what to do did not help! The number would ring for a few seconds then just stop calling altogether! The βdrop boxβ for the keys was broken completely so i had to just place the keys inside the box behind a broken door and trust they would be found a later stage? Very stressful when trying to leave at 6am and you cant even contact a night porter for help! Would stay there again tho.

This is a very nice place for a wheelchair user to stay. The accessible room is superb and they let my autistic kids stay in the room opposite once we explained that they needed to be near. The food is always good - especially on a Sunday. And they have a car park. The pub is always super busy on a Sunday so if you want to eat you will need to book. It's also overrun with families. I would say the staff are very accommodating and other than a bit of dust here and there I can't really fault it. Would definitely stay again.

Visited the area from my home in Spain to be in UK foe the birth of our first grandchild. The check in was efficient and friendly and informative. The room was adequate, well heated and well equipped. The beds were very u comfortable, hard but with a few dips which gave us both back ache. We found it necessary to fold our duvets in half and sleep on one side to try to give an extra layer. The room was very dusty and generally although the beds were made daily the walls and other areas had a thick layer of dust that irritated my asthma at night. I think also apart from a general tighten up with the cleaning routine, they would benefit from using a carpet sanitize spray or something daily and hoover more frequently. Would I stay there again?. Probably, if the need arose because the location was good and the staff were friendly. The standard of food was reasonable.

Our welcome reception was excellent really friendly and helpful staff. The room was beautiful really clean all the facilities and everything that we need for a comfortable stay. A comfortable bed towels provided washing toiletries are provided and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely lush being allowed to choose from the large variety at the Toby carvery buffet. All in all an excellent evening and an excellent hotel.
