The worst hotel I've ever seen. The reception staff were rude and the room had no toilet paper, no soap and nothing. Will never be returning to this miserable place.

Pretty awful experience all-round. The only thing positive I can say is that the sheets seemed clean, and that they had parking. No hot water. Filthy, mouldy shower. Musty odour. Beds were old and quite uncomfortable with the cheapest mattresses. I can't believe that the 5* reviews on here weren't paid for. The cheapest in the area, but not worth the money at all. I'd expect to only pay £15 for a room of this quality.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The whole place stinks! No hot water, so no shower. Everywhere was filthy dirty, hair all over the bathroom. If you are looking at staying in this hotel, seriously look somewhere else, I wish I had.

We had a great time here, got everything we paid for and more. We stayed here for 8 nights, we weren't supposed to have breakfast here, but due to the number of nights, we got continental breakfast for free. We had room 24, with toilet facilities and shower. The kitchen staff and all the staff in the hotel was extremely nice. I want to thank Mrs. Carmen for the warm milk and delicious English breakfast! We ordered English breakfast for 2 days, it was 4 £ each. It was worth it! I ordered a parcel by post, the receptionist brought it to my door when it arrived. We were a little cold during the night, when the heating was turned off, so we asked for a small radiator. We borrowed a hair dryer and an iron from the reception. The room has tea and coffee facilities, a TV set. The hotel is not 20 minutes from centre London, it is 2 minutes away from the bus stop. By bus 43 you get to London Bridge in 80 minutes, if you get off at Highgate underground station, you get to zone 1 in about 30-40 minutes. It was well worth the money to stay in the National Hotel! I highly recommend it!

The staff was really kind and amazingly helpful, the room was just as advertised. It was perfect for sleeping there, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was sufficient and the shared toilet was always available and very clean and tidy. The ventilation of the room was amazing considering it only had one window. I really enjoyed the breakfast, it was tasty and filling. The location is amazing, transportation options are many, the district is pretty relaxing with lots of shops, diners, bars nearby - but not too close, so it was very silent at night. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a place to stay for a couple of days.

The location was perfect for us because we went to an event at Alexander Palace which was a 10 minute walk away! Lots of shops and places to eat. The room was an en-suite room and it was nice but very basic. We didn't get toothpaste and only got 2 little shower gels that would definitely not be enough.. Breakfast is served at 7am while 9am which is included in this room so was good value all in all.

A nice hotel to stay in the rooms are. Modest and comfy. The breakfast is freshly cooked upon request and a nice sizable amount. What let's it down is the lack of on or off site parking and the fact that not all rooms are en suite, some have a shower and that's about it. Overall a pleasant stay with plenty within walking distance.
