This hotel was extremely disappointing. The place is very dirty and not maintained at all. There is no elevator, and the bed was disgusting — the blanket smelled terrible, and there was human hair all over it. The bed itself was loose, made horrible noises, and shook every time you moved. One night cost me $150. honestly don’t understand how the UK government allowed this place to operate as a hotel. It feels more like a poorly kept hut than a place meant to host people. I definitely do not recommend staying here.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was truly disappointing. When I arrived around 10 a.m., I only wanted to leave my luggage, yet no one answered the doorbell even after I waited outside for quite a while. Later, someone finally appeared, but they still charged an extra fee just to store my luggage, which I found unreasonable for a hotel. The room conditions were far below expectations. There was no refrigerator, no kettle, and not even basic amenities. The carpet was heavily stained, to the point where I didn’t even dare to walk barefoot on it. The bathroom looked very old, it took a long time for the water to become warm, and the water pressure was very weak. The bed was noisy and uneven, the floor was dusty, and there were not enough power outlets in the room. What made things worse was a serious booking issue. Due to an Agoda system error, I was charged twice for the same reservation, and two identical bookings were created. I immediately contacted both Agoda and the hotel, but neither side was willing to take responsibility or issue a refund. They kept repeating that “nothing can be done,” which I believe is not the right way to handle a customer problem. When I checked in, the hotel only gave me one room key and never provided access to the second room, meaning I paid for a second room that I never even used. Still, they refused to refund me for that unused room. After several discussions, the hotel finally agreed to let me change the booking date, but they still asked me to pay additional money, even though the new price was almost the same as the original booking. This was completely unfair and unprofessional.

Excellent central London location right next to The British Museum. Basic, dirty and noisy hotel. Shared bathrooms smelly, dirty, bins overflowing with soiled toilet paper, and showers took many minutes to actually produce hot water, the shower floors are vile, and definitely not cleaned daily- recommend you wear flip flops if using them. The room had a sloping uneven floor with a stained, matted, threadbare carpet, the walls were stained and flecked with marks. Very basic furniture-an old springs poking through the mattress bed, only a sheet cover (no duvet or blankets!!), a pillow so solid it would've made a good church kneeler, (I bought my own from Primark as the receptionist said they couldn't offer an alternative) a sink and chair. Rooms boiling hot, no thermostat on radiators. Insecure door lock, evidence of door having been jemmied and old locks on it. No kettle or tea coffee facilities, was told not to drink the tap water. No eating facilities. No fire safety signs in my room or evacuation routes, missing fire exit signs in doorways so unsure if they were exits or not. Unclear, inconsistent check out information- in room sign said 11am, corridor sign said 10am. WiFi didn't work in my room. TV so high on top of a wardrobe you'd not be able to watch it without a neck injury but to use it the remote cost £20, so it was unusable. Noisy at night, from the road at the front and from building works at the back and constant hissing from something ?generator, steam emissions? Thin walls and heard everything from the couple next door (!) Hotel didn't feel at all safe and was very uncomfortable. No lift, just stairs covered in quite a slippy lino material. I've experienced far better cleanliness, comfort, safety and facilities at hostels. It really shouldn't be classed as a hotel. Not worth the money even for the convenience. Only stay if your desperate for the proximity to central London. Not recommended for single female travellers.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. I arrived around 10 a.m. hoping to leave my luggage, but I waited outside for a long time and rang the doorbell many times — no one answered. They even charge for luggage storage. The room has no refrigerator, kettle, or any basic facilities. The carpet is horribly stained, and the bathroom looks old and scary. You have to wait a long time for hot water when showering, and the water pressure is extremely weak. Even though it’s called a “hotel,” there are no amenities provided at all — not even the basics. The floor beside the bed is covered in dust and dirt, and the mattress must be older than my grandmother — it’s noisy and uneven. There are not enough charging outlets either. Honestly, this place is worse than any hostel I’ve ever stayed in. One star is only for the central location and the relatively large room.

I was staying for an extended period and was thoroughly satisfied with both the location and service. ❤️ I am especially grateful for the assistance provided by staff members Abbey (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) and Baron. ❤️ Abbey was truly a wonderful member of staff, showing considerate care towards elderly guests (assisting with luggage and general attentiveness) and treating tourists with limited English as a gentleman should. Thanks to him, I experienced lovely mornings and homecomings throughout my 15-day stay in London. I am Japanese. We Japanese hold 'omotenashi' (hospitality) in high regard. This hotel staff embodies it. There may be issues with some bathrooms (some rooms lacked hot water) and the building's age. However, I was moved by the staff's attentiveness far more than these points. I would recommend it to Japanese friends. To staff member Abbey, thank you for the wonderful memories. My sincere gratitude.

We are staying here for two nights for a show, because all our usual hotels were fully booked. It's OK, but the room is basic and lacking in enough power sockets (only 2) and having a kettle but no tea or coffee or cups! The bathroom looks fine and the bed should be OK. The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the British Museum. But it's expensive, and we're really paying for the location. One additional issue is that you have to ring a doorbell to get in, which doesn't inspire confidence.

This is not the Ritz but at a very good price I had a warm, quiet and comfortable room in a central London. One day hotels like this will be sold and redeveloped and you won't be able to stay in London for less than £200. Enjoy the value while you can!

Very much a budget experience. Not particularly clean, 2 badly positionned wall sockets, only 1 towel each. Little bar of soap each, no shower gel, no bag in bin. Walls and ceiling thin as paper. We were on the ground floor of the "annex"....we could hear people in the room above talking and walking and...everything else too. Didn't feel very safe, with very old room lock. Great location though.

Take on your own risk!! It's a place to stay for one night if you have no other option available at a relatively good price. We were looking for a place in the centre, so we could easily get to the main destinations on foot - so, regarding the location, it's good, but that's only that. BUT!! the photos you may see posted are better, unlike when you get to the place and see the actual situation. Stuff was quite polite!
