Recently booked a last minute night in London. Hostelle was not only very affordable but women's only! I saw a few mixed reviews, but honestly thought it was in my top hostel experiences! It's certainly not a new and flashy hostel, but a comfortable, well thought out and safe space for women to stay. The 14-bed dorm I stayed in was not very spacious but I had a curtain and the bunk bed was sturdy and didn't rock about. The showers and toilets were clean. Both receptionists I came across were really relaxed and friendly. As for location in London, it's a little way out. But it's very close to Bethnel Green tube station (2-min walk) and there are a couple of very cool beer and wine spots within 5-minute walking distance. Overall just feels very comfortable being around women who are there for the same reasons as you. Will defo be back! Many thanks.

Very disappointing stay I booked Hostelle in London and unfortunately had a terrible experience. The hostel was dirty, and both receptionists I interacted with were unhelpful and surprisingly indifferent. Not the supportive, welcoming atmosphere you would expect from a women-only hostel. When I arrived early on Friday morning, the receptionist stayed on her phone, offered no guidance, and barely acknowledged me. When I got to the room, there was no heating, and later, when I went to shower, the water was ice-cold. The bathroom was freezing, making the whole experience extremely uncomfortable. For a place that advertises safety, comfort, and understanding for women, this hostel fell far short. I cannot recommend Hostelle. Even basic cleanliness, warmth, and respectful staff interaction were lacking. After staying there for 2 hours, I ended up booking another place that was way better than Hostelle. You can see in the pictures: 1) There was a dirty Kleenex left on the floor right next to my bed — completely unacceptable. 2) There was what looked like hair and even an old pistachio on the floor right next to my bed — completely unacceptable.

I felt safe during my stay and appreciated that it’s women-only. As others have mentioned, it wasn’t quite as clean as I’d hoped. I’m not sure how much is the age of the building versus upkeep, but it definitely felt like it could use a deeper scrub. The location is great though: right on the Central line, and the Elizabeth line is walkable, which made getting to Heathrow really convenient. I did experience an issue with another guest in the middle of the night and because the overnight staff member is male, he wasn’t able to enter the rooms. That meant there wasn’t really a way to address the situation which does feel like a bit of a structural flaw, especially in a women-only hostel where overnight support might need to intervene directly for guest comfort or safety reasons.

Hostelle has bad reviews — and honestly, they’re right. TikTok doesn’t show the real experience at all. 1️⃣ The staff at reception are rude and have a terrible attitude. Every time you ask something, they look at you like they’re doing you a favor. It feels super uncomfortable — they don’t create a friendly or welcoming vibe. You basically have to make an effort to connect with other girls yourself. Then something really weird happened at night: two girls slept in the same bed as me (Bed 6F). I couldn’t sleep at all because they were moving all night. When I told the reception in the morning, they literally said: “Did you talk to them about it?” Like… what?! This hostel seriously feels like a White Lotus episode — but with the worst receptionists I’ve ever met. Why would I, as a guest, confront other guests? That’s their job, not mine. 2️⃣ Cleanliness: The bathrooms and common areas were spotless, so that was a positive. But my bed was dirty when I arrived. I had to remove everything and sleep on top of my own clothes because it was too late to ask for a change. If you come to London and stay here, double-check your bed and get ready to be treated horribly at reception. I did enjoy spending some quiet time alone, but I decided to leave because of how the receptionists behaved.

I stayed there for 2 days and I really enjoyed it! The rooms and the bathrooms weren't very big, but what is important, is that they were clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a nice area near the reception, where you can watch tv, play board games and drink some (complimentary) tea. They also have a small kitchen and a luggage room, where you can leave your belongings for a couple of hours after you check out. The location is also amazing! There are lovely restaurants nearby and some supermarkets and an underground station is like a 5 minute walk from the hostel. The only negative thing I have to say is that I agree with some of the reviews and the rooms get indeed quite cold.

The hostel is pretty much right next to the underground station and there are plenty of good places to eat or shop for food nearby, my stay was only for one night so I can't speak on the kitchen but the bathroom and bedrooms were quite nice. Although as some of the other reviews state, the metal locker under the bed is quite loud and takes up a lot of room between the beds but I feel that isn't such a bad trade off for the price. As for my booking, I was originally supposed to stay for the whole weekend but due to some changes in circumstances I couldn't, the staff were very good about my sudden change despite me only giving notice a day before so I was very thankful for that. They also sell things like towels and locks at reception for a decent price. Area itself is pretty nice and I would feel relatively safe walking around at night on the highstreet. Overall I would definitely stay here again when I next come to London, and if I ever visit Amsterdam or Barcelona I will for sure check out the Hostelle there :)))

Great hostel with an incredibly warm environment. The staff is super kind and the rooms are confortable and pretty! Definitely will stay here again. Also the underground stop is very close and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby, so it's very easy to get everything and everywhere you need.

Very clean and modern hostel. I love that it's female only. They have a great team and they're friendly and helpful!! The rooms are decorated well and there's also a terrace. Definitely recommend staying here
