Wonderful, the perfect experience! Anita, Matthew and all the other staff made our Sunday lunch so special, thanks again! In September I visited with my two great friends, one of whom was was celebrating her engagement. The staff were fabulous, food was delicious, and the setting was gorgeous. If you want a stunning place to relax whilst appreciating nature, this is it. We loved the decor, subtle colours and ambience. Well done Birch! We will return.

We went to Birch for a relaxing night away from home and absolutely loved it. We enjoyed a fab swim in the Lido, a cosy cup of tea in the snug and a delicious meal at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful too. If you love walking, the grounds are huge so you can get a decent distance in! We loved that the hotel welcomed families and dogs. It creates a lovely atmosphere. The gym and work space were excellent. The hotel is new with a couple of teething issues but I really felt it was value for money! Thanks Birch.

I read several bad reviews on this hotel and Iām glad I ignored them. Absolutely loved our stay, rooms are lovely and the beds are super comfy! We moved to a front facing room as we have a baby and it was super peaceful and huge. The grounds are so pretty, food was delicious. Pool area was my favourite part, yes it can get busy but it is what it is, we managed to get a sunbed and our baby loved kicking around in the heated pool. Felt completely relaxed when we got home which is all we wanted from this trip. Thank you Birch, you have so much more to offer then we even began to fit in! Will 100% be back soon!

Had dinner with friends a few times and stayed over for a weekend also during their soft opening. Yes, sure, there are a few teething problems, but all are to be expected. The concept is to come and switch off and get back to nature, hence the basic rooms! The food is fantastic and not bad portion sizes. The co-working space is awesome. It is such a great place to go and work (if you have to). The gym is epic, every single piece of kit you could ever want. The best part for me however are the stunning grounds, a 200-acre re-wilding project that is well under way. Just wandering for hours, getting lost in nature, it's hard to remember you're in Croydon. Can't wait for the animals to come and for the impressive looking Lido to open!

I went to the soft opening to try out the yoga, the yoga room was lovely and the yoga teacher fantastic. I was however disappointed to see the changes to the hotel, I had been previously the hotel design was much grander in fitting with traditional nature of the building. The grounds were stunning. The current design is very basic and doesn't emphasis the beauty of the hotel. I decided to show my partner more recently as the terrace is really nice on a sunny day and we wanted to have a coffee. However, we were told that we needed to be members, as its now a club. The receptionist did let us go in. I feel this members club is not in fitting with the area the hotel is situation and they are alienating members of the community. A coffee costs about £4.00 and it seems odd that the owners are happy to lose money on this. For the price the service was very slow, they do not serve coffees to the table despite the price. Although I was interested in the membership - the experience has left me feeling as though the cost isn't worth it. The only reason why it would be good is the yoga and swimming pool. Besides that I suppose we will not be the right clientale for them. I suppose having money means you are more likely to waste it believing that you are part of chosen ones, this is not hospitality, it is elitist, even if they are looking for young creative types - it is all about 'style' and money.

Was shown around today... Although not the finished article yet, the team look and feel confident to deliver on their promises, and I wish them every success in creating a warm and friendly socially engaging members club and hotel! Looking forward to opening!!
