   Final day of our walk - what an epic adventure! Walked 75km total along the Amalfi coastline to Sorrento. I could not more highly recommend @onfootholidays if you’re wanting to do some walking through Europe or England. We have loved the independent nature of the walks and not seeing many other people - today we walked 15km and did not see a single other person. But, and here’s the cool thing - we always ended up at really cool and hip places and stayed in nice 3-star hotels. The walks were challenging and interesting. Scenery was off the hook! We really felt like we’d got off the tourist trail and seen the essence of the Italian landscape. Walked from Amalfi to Sorrento. This provided some epic mountainous traverses and ended up at the seaside where we could swim. Actually, we swam almost every day in the sea. Out of 5 days walking, we didn’t see any other walkers on 4 days. How special to be walking a trail by yourself. Onto the next part of our adventure tomorrow ❤️

   We just completed a four night- three day walking tour through the Geres National Park in northern Portugal. The tour was definitely the highlight of our 15 days in Portugal. Beautiful scenery, small villages and history (13 miles on a Roman Road, e.g.). The lodgings and food were terrific even in small remote villages. And On Foot provided great support throughout. Highly recommend!

The itinerary and the places we stayed were all amazing with all the information provided plus an awesome route guidance app which never let us down, we both agreed that it possibly our best ever holiday - and we are already looking at website to see where we may go next

   I have just returned from my third On Foot Holiday walking 6 days in the Ligurian Hills (August 2024). It was another excellent holiday - well organised and supported by both the office in the UK and the friendly rep, Greta in Italy. The scenery was fantastic ranging from vineyards to fields, woodland, rolling hills to mountains and finally stunning Mediterranean coastline at Camogli near Portofino. Highly recommended! La Via del Sale (Salt Trail) is a great trail and relatively unknown, so a good choice if you like walking on quiet paths. Although not the Alps, there were some strenuous days, so a good level of walking fitness is advised with climbs over 1,000m on rough terrain. The accommodation in small local B&Bs and some small hotels was excellent with warm and friendly hosts and some delicious Italian food made with locally sourced ingredients. Overall, a fun holiday for active relaxation. —————— I walked The Lighthouse Way last week in N Spain (July 2023). The booking was handled very efficiently. In particular, Mary was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The company provided an excellent pack of literature before departure covering all aspects of the walk, accommodation and dining options as well as information on the area. The GPX files were also invaluable for navigation. The walk itself was beautiful. The Galician coast is stunning and very quiet, as well as unspoilt. Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful as few people speak English. The company has a rep, Aznar to assist throughout the walk. He is a real asset - knowledgeable, prompt to respond and personable. Overall, highly recommended. I plan to book another walk with the company following this very enjoyable holiday.

   We booked a multi day Yorkshire Dales trip with On Foot and it exceeded our expectations. The On Foot team was very responsive, helpful and always answered my, albeit many, questions. I am so appreciative of their attention to detail. They provided detailed guides for the walk including gps tracks and those made us feel more comfortable and safe. The local contact, Shaun, was also very helpful and kind, checking in with us each day to see how we were doing, encourage and provide tips. They also booked table reservations for us at great restaurants and we were happy to have these as some places were fully booked. We are already thinking about our next trip with On Foot!

   I'm torn. My husband and I did the Slovenia walking holiday. The company (On Foot Holidays) was great to deal with from start to finish. However, I do NOT recommend doing this in Slovenia or any other region with highly endemic tick borne diseases (Tick borne diseases are *highly* endemic in Slovenia). My husband and I were both bitten by multiple ticks during our on foot holiday and are now on high dose antibiotics, spending a lot of time, money, and worry in trying to avoid Lyme, Babesia, Tick-Borne encephalitis, q fever, and others. NOT worth it. Most people who are bitten by ticks never realize they have been bitten. For example: 1/3rd of people diagnosed with Lyme knew they were bitten. So, I'm sure others have been bitten on this particular route even if there are no other reviews stating so. I do very much wish On Foot had made this high risk of serious disease very clear in the literature they sent us, considering the fact that tick borne illnesses are highly endemic in that area and that the paths are not clear enough the entire way to avoid brushing up against them. I have asked On Foot to update it for future customers. Do your research about ticks no matter where you decide to go. UPDATE (12/24/2022): Blood tests have now confirmed that I contracted the bacteria that causes lyme disease, the bacteria that causes Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and the parasite that causes babesiosis in Slovenia on this On Foot holiday.

   Amazing, couldn't recommend enough. We just did the Ligurian Hills walk (Italy) and it was superb in every aspect. I wish I could give it 6 stars. The team provided great advice when we were choosing which hike to do. The route was spectacular, varied and provided some great hiking. The route guidance was foolproof, and the addition of a gps route map removed any potential stress. The accomodation was also excellent - varied in interesting ways and always welcoming friendly hosts. Finally, the food was spectacular, with regional feasts continuously laid out for us. We were already looking at their other routes on day 2 of our hike.

   I have done two tours with On Foot Holidays - the Dolomites and northern Provence. Both were wonderful experiences. Excellent routes and clear instructions, with shortening options for hikers of more modest abilities. GPS maps provided were very reassuring to ensure we stayed on route. Great quality accommodation and transfer services. Clear communication from the team. A very professional operation.
