Lovely place, rooms are bit dated. Complained about first room as have been cleaned but was managed immediately and moved us to another room, much nicer! Staff were all lovely and very welcoming and ideal being next to the zoo. Had an amazing time would definitely recommend!

The hotel is right next door to Marwell Zoo. The pictures on line looked amazing but in reality this hotel is getting very run down! Rooms were comfortable but looking tired and bathrooms could do with a revamp, looked rather sad!! Nice to be in the woods, didn’t see any wildlife though ☹️ Function room we saw looked much more up to date as was the restaurant. Breakfast was freshly cooked on the days that were quiet and buffet style on busier days! Not a massive range of choice but to be honest it a really good price and we were more than happy with it! Really good value and the staff super friendly and helpful! Swimming pool was very dated, but warm and pleasant, changing rooms very basic and no amenities, room with two treadmills that were a little past their best, sauna was not working one day and the others it was only just warm so not really usable. Reception staff super helpful, always friendly as were the bar staff! In fact all the staff made it a really nice stay. It’s also dog friendly

This is a nice, good value hotel that has the makings of an excellent hotel. Loads of parking and a great location The staff were very pleasant and the service good. Swimming pool is a bonus although there were no hot water showers to rinse off, just very cold one's ! The layout of the hotel is interesting and almost like a safari lodge built with the view of the woods as the most important factor. Loads of seating by the bar for a pre dinner drink. Our room was pleasant & comfortable enough although the carpet had not been vacuumed and a wall light was loose. All reported and noted by the reception staff in their book. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of everything you could want to eat in the morning although dinner was a bit disappointing. I think basic describes it best. This hotel needs some money spent on it to bring it up to the standard it deserves but please don't let that put you off. All in all, good value

Lovely hotel. We stayed here for 1 night as a family. We had a family room, consisting of a queen size bed and bunk beds. Really clean pleasant room with plenty of space. Nice and quiet as well. Slept very well, which don't usually at hotels. The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly. The public areas are welcoming and clean. I did find that I needed a coat walking around the hotel. It's a bit cold in the public areas including the swimming pool area. Breakfast was nice. Not '5 star' but had everything you need. Would come again. Great location for zoo and also marwel resort down the road and winchester and Southampton. Plenty to do. Good value for money

Nice hotel situated next to the zoo. Ample parking. Staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were a decent size and clean. They would benefit from a refresh but we're adequate for our short stay. The mattress was very soft which wasn't good for my back but perhaps that is personal preference. The onsite swimming pool was a bonus. Again this could do with refreshing. The ladies had a small communal changing area which could be an issue with children. Lockers did not work. We did not use the sauna. On site restaurant was a decent size. It looked tired needing a new carpet, the menu was limited and food mainly 'pub grub' standard. I would say for the cost we found it wasn't worth it. The negatives however would not stop me staying again but I would not eat on site.

We stayed overnight, as we were going to a Winchester University open day for our daughter. The staff were excellent and very very cheerful. They ALL were fantastic. The room we stayed in was clean and done the job well. TV, iron, hairdryer etc. There is a small indoor swimming pool for kids, right on top of the Zoo as well. We will definitely recommend this to everyone, and will return next time with our Granddaughter. Overall well done to all the staff, who were always happy to help with anything.

We had a lovely stay here. 2 nights. Great view of the woods from our spacious room. Lots of fun in the pool with our toddler! So close to the zoo. Would definitely recommend to other families.

This is a 3 star low cost hotel so rating in line with expectations. We chose this hotel for close proximity to Winchester and New Forest, being 15 mins outside each. Also, it is dog friendly (apart from pool and restaurant) so a great opportunity to take our terrier. Rooms did the job, with bunk beds fine for our kids. Room-keeping however was a bit hit and miss and on one occasion we found our room wasn't fully closed when we returned.

There was no heating in the room and at - 5 outside you can imagine how cold it was. A plug in heater was provided but did very little. There are no phones in the rooms to contact anybody so had to Google the hotel and phone from our mobile. The receptionist did everything she could and moved us to a different room. No heating in the corridors so they were freezing as they are all glass walkways. Our room was adequate but dated. Very cold when we first got into it but at least that one had a radiator. No heating in the bathroom at all.

We recently had our wedding reception at Marwell Hotel and had the best day. We had so many compliments about the food and the hotel itself. Millie, our wonderful wedding coordinator was amazing and so helpful, she made sure our day went smoothly and kept checking on us throughout the day. The rooms were also lovely and comfortable. It was a brilliant day and the perfect venue for us so thank you to all the staff that made our day so amazing, especially Millie, Megan and Brooke. We are so pleased we celebrated our special day at Marwell and couldn’t have asked for anything more.
