We found the service absolutely impeccable. Specially Mr Vivek and the Spanish waiter, (we don't know his name) They couldn't do enough for us in the restaurant. Very pleasant and amiable. Excellent service. The food was delicious on all 3 days we stayed at the hotel. Especially the new year's eve dinner was par excellence .

Excellent service from Emma, who helped me with a tailored request for an upcoming Boxing Day reservation. She was friendly, patient and very accommodating. Always above and beyond at the MGM! Thanks

Afternoon tea isn't anything like it used to be. Terrible tiny shop bought millionaire shortbread and a square of rocky road are not gluten free equivalent cake suitable for afternoon tea of that price. The sandwiches were dry and bread tasted like it was frozen, scones were like rock cakes and so dry disintegrated into crumbs when cut. Service also poor - booked for 2 plain scones as can't eat currants, rang to confirm then served one with currants and told too late to change it! Had to ask 3 times for refill of tea before finally getting it and took 30 mins to get a glass to drink the water from. This used to be a go to place for afternoon tea but definitely won't be going back, especially when they're going to put the price up in Jan

The only reason we are giving this hotel 5 stars is because we cannot give it more. It is absolutely superb. We had our wedding there on the advice of a friend and it was faultless. The food was excellent, the service was superb, the rooms were top class but it was the staff who really made the place. They were friendly and incredibly efficient. The building was built in 1512 with some more recent additions and is very interesting in itself and has a lovely enclosed garden. All of our guests agreed with us that this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. This place is at the top of its game.

Firstly apologies for late feedback, my review is with regards to Xmas lunch, we booked to take an elderly relative here, with just one request that we could be seated in a quiet area... this didn't happen, even when we asked again on arrival! However on arrival the manager (the gentleman with the long-ish unkempt hair) was rude and very abrupt, he couldn't find our booking... and had the cheek to ask us if we had actually booked. When he took us the the table he started taking our drinks order and halfway through just walked away, the only reason we stayed is because the waiter was decent. Definitely no rush ever to go back.

11/12/22. We returned again for dinner and a Murder Mystery evening. Both were very good. The meal was much better than I expected, for what we paid, hot, tasty and well presented. Good unfussy service. All the staff were very friendly and polite. Clean toilets, a bar and a large well kept garden. Drinks prices were very good, considering this is a 4* hotel. Plenty of free parking and a short but quiet distance from the M25/A12. Recommended We are back soon with friends for Afternoon tea

I booked an afternoon tea for nine of us for two friends’ birthdays. I cannot express how helpful the staff were in arranging the booking and arranging for dietary requirements and on the day how friendly and helpful they all were. The afternoon tea was so lovely and the atmosphere at Marygreen Manor was warm and so Christmassy. Would definitely recommend coming here for any special occasion. Thank you for giving us a lovely afternoon x

The room is spacious and well appointed. It is very noisy from plumbing noise coming from other rooms. The bed uncomfortable (large does not make up for comfort) and the pillows terrible. Hotel offers room service and light meals in the lounge but we were advised the kitchen was too busy to provide food for more than an hour from our enquiry. Don't offer it if you can't provide it.

I had a afternoon cream tea here with my mum. Lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes along with steaming hot tea. There was a wedding meal going on outside. We were sat in the conservatory area so had a nice view of all the guests wedding outfits. Staff were very helpful and professional. The carpark is large so found a parking spot easily. It's on a busy main road going into Brentwood from the Brook St roundabout with the junction of M25, A12 and A128. The building itself is very pretty, standing well back from the road.
