I went to ASDA Pharmacy to get some numbing cream for a tattoo, but unfortunately, my first experience wasn’t great. I was served by someone who was quite rude and dismissive, and I was refused the cream without much explanation. When I asked to speak with a manager, things improved — the manager was polite, took me to a private room, explained the proper procedure clearly, apologised for the staff member’s behaviour, and even arranged for the cream to be ready for me to collect the next day. While I appreciate the manager’s help and professionalism, the general customer service here really needs improvement. Most of the staff seem unhappy, unfriendly, and not interested in helping customers. It’s a shame, because good management can only do so much when the rest of the team doesn’t seem to care.

Fantastic service. Went out of their way to find a supplier for me. No other chemist including my own bothered. Was most grateful to them.

Fantastic 5 stars, they can get meds that other chemists cant be bothered to order, great staff also. Never have to wait long 10 out of 10, ran by professionals and by people who actually care. Thank you

Due to the recent changes at the chemist I will no longer be using it. Having waited 40 minutes to be served I was told I will have to return at the end of the week for one of my medicines( the prescription was issued on the 15/4/25 and today is the 20/4/25 so they have already had 5 days to obtain) and got home to find another of my medicines are missing completely from the bag. Don’t think to check before leaving as I have never had this problem before.Tried to telephone but got no answer. Very poor management, poor patient safety checks and overall not a service I would recommend

Avoid this pharmacy at all costs. It’s an utter shambles! After seeing an out of hours doctor on Easter Sunday, an urgent prescription for antibiotics was sent here. I arrived at opening time, 10am, on Easter Monday and was told it would be “added to the pharmacist’s list” and to return 90 minutes later. I did so but it quickly became apparent they hadn’t even attempted to locate my prescription on the system yet - I had to take it upon myself to call Wigan GP Alliance to get a unique internal reference number to help the pharmacist locate my prescription. After some time, the pharmacist said he had located it and would begin to dispense. After 35 minutes passed, and I and several other patients still hadn’t received our medication, the staff then announce they’re closing for lunch, leaving a group of us wondering where that leaves us. We could all see a growing pile of bags of meds on the pharmacist’s counter waiting to be handed out. We then had to give our names again and the chemist rooted through the pile to find each individual’s medication. It was total chaos. I finally get given some meds at 1pm (reminder: I first arrived at 10am) and was told they only had four tablets out of the 21 I needed. If I’d been told that originally we could have saved a lot of time. I asked for the script to be ‘returned’ and printed out so I could take it to another pharmacy. I eventually found another pharmacy with the meds I needed, but when they went to dispense they found the pharmacist at Golborne Asda hadn’t in fact ‘returned’ the script so it was stuck in the system. I then tried to ring them to ask them to do this - the phone rang out four times and was then taken off the hook. After 20 minutes my partner got through and explained the situation and was met with denial and no apology. The script was then, finally, ‘returned’ and dispensed by the other pharmacy I’d travelled to. I’m a Type 1 Diabetic who’s been ill for nearly a month with a chronic strep A infection. The delay to getting my meds, not to mention the additional stress, was completely needless and down to the most basic incompetence I’ve ever witnessed in a medical setting. To be honest, in any setting. I wouldn’t trust the people working here to run a bath.

Spoke to staff over the phone regarding a prescription from the hospital and rather than being polite about it and saying please get a regular prescription from the doctors was very snotty and rude about it. Dont think I’ll be going back if that’s the treatment you get

Brilliant staff at the Asda pharmacy in Golborne. My husband has cancer and they ensure all his prescriptions are ordered very quickly. They have phoned me on occasion to deal with queries to make sure his medication does not fall behind. I can't thank them enough really.
