I stayed in a single room which was compact but very comfortable and well equipped. The hotel decor is modern and smart, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Great for a short stay!

It comprises several Georgian townhouses and offers a range of rooms, a bar/lounge with a terrace, and free WiFi. Location and accessibility It is located in central London, a very short walk from King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, providing excellent transport links. This makes it a good base for exploring London and traveling to other parts of the UK. Hotel amenities Rooms: The hotel offers a variety of rooms, from compact single rooms to family rooms, all featuring private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and blackout curtains. Bar and lounge: Guests can enjoy snacks, drinks, and coffee in the hotel's bar and lounge. Outdoor terrace: There is a terrace that is especially pleasant to use in the summer. The room and location were acceptable, but the property was quite noisy—you could hear other guests coming and going. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our booking confirmation stated a 2 PM check-in, yet upon arrival we were told it was 3 PM, even after showing the email. They eventually let us in a bit earlier, but without any apology, making it seem like they were doing us a favor rather than correcting their own automated message. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the included breakfast, but in the morning we were sent to a nearby hotel with a voucher. Once seated, we were given a restricted menu because we weren’t “real” guests. When I asked if we could order more and pay the difference, they said it wasn’t possible. Overall, this was not a good experience, and we definitely won’t be returning.
A few years ago we stayed here on two occasions and had beautiful, bright, comfortable rooms. We thought it was excellent value for location and so did not hesitate to book again. On our recent trip, one room that we stayed in was a dungeon, the other cramped and dismal. The value isn't there anymore, but if you prefer location over room, this place is for you.
The location is great, close to Euston station and Kings cross. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is charming. The rooms were small and the price was more than what it should've cost in my opinion. Corridors up to the rooms are tiny and the ceiling is not that high so you can hit your head climbing the stairs to the last floor. Walls are thin so you hear everything your neighbors are saying or doing. Also there was no way to lock the door. Mattress was harder than what I would've liked, even though I have a very firm mattress at home.

It’s our first hotel in London and we are very comfortable with this hotel as we choose family room. The hotel is cozy with a perfect place to take train or buses to visit city centre. The staff is very helpful and always keep smile at faces. Our experience is very amazing with this hotel as we stayed 4 night. Surly will visit again. Thank you. Highly recommend
I literally cannot say enough nice things about this wonderful hotel. The staff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I owe them so much. I apologize for leaving so much garbage from ordering food. The California Hotel is ideal, situated within a minutes walk of St Pancras station. On the outside, the building is very beautiful and appears very classy. The staff are very welcoming, the room was very clean & tidy: fresh sheets, towels and an obviously regularly cleaned bathroom. All welcomed. Given the location, £335 for 2 nights, 2 people during the weekend seems like a very reasonable price too. A few cons: With the design of these terraced buildings, it wasn't pleasant using the shower given the low ceilings and being 6'2, however it's nothing major and can't be helped. The noise from the underground trains could be heard in the lower floor rooms at night and it was slightly cold coming in at 11pm and no option it seemed to turn the radiator up?
Price is ok. Let's start there You get what you pay for, and if you want to be close to the station it's a brilliant location. This is the only reason to stay here. Rooms are small, dank but somehow just about comfortable for an overnight. Staff are great, friendly, helpful and efficient. Don't stay more than one night, only use this place as a short stop before onward travel and it's adequate.
