   We arrived at the hotel, only to find that it was being renovated. We got no notice of this, even worse, we got automated messages before and during the "stay" about whether we were enjoying our stay. We had to find another hotel, luckily we found one, but the lack of information is unacceptable. This whole ordeal could have been prevented if it were communicated. We have tried several numbers to contact the hotel, none of them picked up. The location was fine, but there are other hotels in the very same street. I have never heard of such a bizarre situation. I cannot give an honest review of the room, because we never stayed there, but if the communication skills are anything like the rest, I would not recommend staying here

   We arrived but the door was closed, no one answered the doorbell, knocker, or phone. When we looked through the mailbox the building looked empty and barren, and we had to book a different hotel last minute. Add the many mentions of bed bugs and I recommend you avoid this hotel at all costs and take any one of the options on the same street.

   Steer clear of this hell hole, truly the worst hotel I've ever been to. First of all, bed bugs. Didn't realise we had been biten, and a week ish later they appeared on our bodies. Only possible place we could have gotten them. Our neighbour in the room next to us was literally screaming and groaning all night for two nights in a row. He came home, turned TV on very loud, and starting making these horrible noises. The next night we called reception, as it not only scared us, but stopped us from falling asleep. He came up, knocked on our door first, then knocked on his door. Of course he didn't open it. Said he'd ring him, we hear his phone ring then immediately he must have hung up. Nothing was done and he kept groaning and screaming all night. Also had a horrible smell of mold in bathroom. The mini fridge also had a smell totally different. Made whole room smell like rot. Had to ask for it to be removed. Also door super hard to open, wasn't told how to open it, and got stuck outside with another group for almost 30 mins. Had to call, weren't responding however. Have to twist a weird way and pull. Weren't told about it in advance. Location, convenient. Not worth it at all however.

   Horrible experience – Stay away from this hotel! My stay at The Garth Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. • Disgusting cleanliness standards: The room was filthy—stained and lifted carpet, dirty curtains and walls, and even beds and pillows with horrifying stains, some looking like blood. I even found a live insect on a pillow and hair in the bed. After this, I was genuinely afraid to even lie down. • Terrible conditions: The corridor door slammed loudly every time someone passed, making sleep impossible. The walls were paper-thin, and I could hear every conversation from the neighboring rooms. The shower barely produced any water, making it nearly impossible to wash. • Completely incompetent service: The hotel’s main entrance wouldn’t open with the key provided. We were forced to stand outside for over 20 minutes in the middle of the night (still within check-in hours), ringing the bell repeatedly. When someone finally arrived, he had earphones in—no wonder he didn’t hear us! Even he couldn’t get the door to work. This place is beyond unacceptable—dirty, run-down, and managed horribly. Avoid at all costs!

   I would like to share my experience at this hotel. My daughter and her friend are currently staying there. They are two young people on their first trip to London. I wanted to find a BBB hotel for them. One that is well located and allows them to save on transfers and be close to everything. Not only that, but the room had a small renovated bathroom and faced the street. Some aspects could be improved, such as cleaning under the beds, but nothing that would interfere with a satisfactory experience. The main point is to highlight the kindness, education and good disposition of the receptionist who helped them at all times. Without a doubt, it is a place to get to know London, be well located and not have to spend a fortune! Thanks to SHREY y SHASHWAT !!!

   Being the cheapest around i was hoping for cheap and cheerful but there's nothing cheerful about this place. Staff were miserable, the stairs feel like you are going to go through them, wires hanging all about the place. We were room 8 and the TV didn't work and it was soooo hot in there. I like it hot but it was roasting and this was Dec 27th with the radiator off. On the plus side the location is great and they do rooms that sleep 3.

   Old hotel with small rooms. Clean, quiet and good location. No luggage storage available, even though advertised. DO NOT get the reception to order a taxi for you. They advertise that it's cheaper, but they'll get some private driver that charges double the normal fare rates. Complete scam. Even the driver recommended us to get a normal taxi on our own.

   You ought to be able to give 0 stars. Awful room. Steep tight stairs down to a tiny cramped room with a view of a very close wall. Terrible smell from the drains in the bathroom and the bathroom door wouldn't close so we couldn't even shut the smell out. So bad we left after the first night and went to another hotel. Way WAY to expensive and really shouldn't be listed as a hotel. Dreadful.

   Worst hotel ever! Our flight would arrive late, so I sent them an email saying that we would arrive late on the hotel, and the answer was "ok, no worries, thanks for letting us know". The problem is that when we arrive in the hotel, the door was closed and there was nobody on the reception. So I tried to call, but the number on google is only to make a new reservation, so we were knocking a lot on the door, and after 10 minutes, a person that was staying at the hotel and close to the door, probably woke up with our noise on knocking on the door and opened the door for us. Like I said, there was nobody on the reception, so we just pick up a key for any bedroom and slept there. They never apologized for that and don't even asked about my ID, to confirm at least my name. If that person would not woke up and open the door for us, we would be on the street all night long. As I said that we would arrive late, they should call us before leaving the reception. This was the minimum to do, as form of respect. The hotel is old, full of noises on the floor and on the pipes. I woke up with the noise of the pipes at night. Terrible place and terrible experience.
