Delightful afternoon here with family. Lovely, warm, inviting pub serving great food. We were a large group so booked in advance. Despite being a big group we didn’t need to pre order and all the meals arrived together and were delicious. Service was excellent. Ambience and atmosphere just perfect. Will visit again very soon.
The Sunday roast was very good, only downside was the nearly burnt Yorkshire pudding. Starters were tasty, good portions and the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was delicious! The pub can be very busy- had a booking, but ended up waiting for more than 20 mins to be seated as the previous booking hadn’t left. The staff apologised etc; nevertheless, waiting l, especially when you have young children despite having made a booking, is never great.
Found this spot on a day trip to the Peak District. Having just finished a small hike, we were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat and found this gem on Google maps. We turned up without reservations and the place was rammed (A testament to how much people like this place). However the lovely team was still able to accommodate us which was great. They cleared a table got us a menu and overall were very welcoming and pleasant to speak to. They first took our drink orders while we decided what we wanted for our meals. The menu isn’t extensive but I believe it has something for everyone. For me, a refined menu done well will always top an extensive but rushed one. While we waited for our food I had a chance to glance around the room. The seating is quite cozy so you’re fairly close to other guests sitting around you but I feel like this adds to the atmosphere that this place has. The decor is very rustic with Bull horns (surprise surprise), wooden plaques and metal ornaments which worked really well with the design of the building and makes an already beautiful foundation even better. Once the food arrived we wasted no time digging in. The food looked amazing, tasted amazing and came out piping hot! So much so that we even got a warning to watch out not to burn ourselves on the hot plate! Overall this place is great for a quick drink or a proper meal. Whichever you’re fancy I’m sure the team will try and accommodate you the best they can. For anyone who’s in the area or passing by. This is definitely a place to pay a visit.

Visited while staying nearby. Cracking pub with excellent menu and fantastic service. We were made welcome on arrival and accommodated despite not having a reservation. Food was amazing, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
From the minute we walked in we felt welcome even though the pub was very busy, the service was professional and fast. All of the staff were attentive, polite and delivered outstanding service. The ambiance of the pub is great, with lovely decor and a cosy feel. I had a great stout (3 in fact) and my wife had a beer. The food was amazing and again service was absolutely brilliant. The beef and unicorn pie was delicious and packed with quality beef, chips cooked to perfection and a lovely portion of veg. Would like to say thank you to the whole team and you have a pub you should be really proud of! We come from Thame in Oxfordshire and have some great local pubs and bistros, but you would top most of them. All the best John and Helen Ps - would have given you more stars but limited to 5
Amy and Dan are the best pub landlords in England! We were lucky enough to be the first people to have a wedding in The Bulls Head pub garden and we are so glad we did! Amy and Dan are a wonderful combination of laid back and competent, in the build up to the wedding they were calm and accommodating, giving the whole pub garden over to us and keeping my nerves down as the big day approached. On the day Amy was so attentive and regularly popped up with a fresh glass of champagne for me and Chris so we were never without a drink, and I know she was just as lovely and attentive to our family and friends too! Dan was equally fab with his sidekick Casper, ensuring we were well set up for the caterers and bands and even staying to the very last to help us bag up all the left over food! The Bulls Head itself is the most wonderful quaint English pub set in a village that oozes Derbyshire charm. We had the most perfect day, one we will treasure forever - thanks so much guys! xxx
Fantastic, friendly, pub with excellent food. The guy behind the bar was great - really friendly and helpful and he knew his stuff. Would happily go back. Pro tip 1: I'd recommend booking. We got lucky, but not everyone will and there were a number of tables already reserved, so don't get caught out... Pro tip 2: not huge amounts of parking at the pub itself, so be prepared to find somewhere sympathetic within the village.
Absolutely beautiful little country pub with a stunning beer garden. The barman was spot on, really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with regards to the real ales and the food on the menu. The food was exceptional, well presented and a good, diverse selection of meals. Meals shown: starter, whitebait with spicy tomato sauce - main: Korean chicken taco with Kimchi - pudding: traditional Bakewell pudding with cream.
