   Went there last night with my brother and sister. Music was okay, we danced. However we left after few songs as we been approached by the couple which tried to spike us without hiding. There were no security around appart from a lady next to entrance. Not to mention that security lady was supported by the drunk man (you can smell ) checking your passport/ids. He was not wearing any uniform or badge. As you go out you want to feel safe and in here we were not feeling it.

   Went along as was staying at the hotel next door. Never been there in my life, and as we went to go in, a jumped up woman bouncer on a massive power trip, asked to see mine and my wife's ID, which we gave her. She looked and saw we were from out the area, and then told us we couldn't go in, as we were drunk....funny that, as we literally had 1 drink before leaving the hotel bar, and the Boston was the first place we got to. In addition to that, there was only 2 people actually in there!!! Absolutely disgusting door staff

   1 star for the bar, 10000 stars for Topsie Redfern! Her drag performance was absolutely brilliant — I’d give 1000 stars if I could and would happily see her again in London or anywhere else. The bar itself though… awful vibe. After the show the DJ was old, arrogant, looked like he was half asleep while playing, and only managed a few good songs. The crowd turned into straight teenagers barely dancing, super weird atmosphere. My Belgian friends ordered Stella and were told proper glasses were only for the owners’ friends — ridiculous. And the ID check screen showing private info (even a skin colour chart!) is just SHOCKING!! The bar staff serving drinks were friendly, but that’s about it. I would never go back. I’d rather see Topsie somewhere else — I’m not even sure she’d want to return to such a weird place.

   We were not allowed in cause apparently too drunk literally saw people go in who were far more intoxicated than us and we are a gay couple, you can shove your club where the sun don't shine and I hope others will realise how bad your security and bar staff treat it's customers .

   Great drink deals and a good security team. They don't tolerate any bs and it feels really safe. Bar staff are really nice too. The one star is knocked off because I really don't like the DJ it's usually the same guy and he doesn't seem to watch the dance floor at all. He will play 1 or 2 bangers and the dance floor will be rammed, then do some d&b or something and it'll empty, but then he won't go back to what was popular and the dancefloor will stay empty. We've gone home early multiple times bc of this! A better DJ would make this bar a clear 5/5 because every other element is brilliant.

   Was falsely acused of fake ID not the frist time it's happened one of the bouncers had UV ink on his hand prior to checking the ID, PLEASE BE AWARE

   Totally disappointed with this venue arrived several hours early spent money on drinks only to be asked By security at quarter to 10 to leave the premises and queue in the cold and pay a fee of £10 per person to re-enter, absolutely disgusted Also i noticed in the threads below that owner claims In a response to another review that they are open till 6 AM I was informed at the bar they were open until 5 AM also he claims that it's 3 pound entry prior to 12 o'clock this also is an outright lie.He should be ashamed, Spoiled a perfectly good night

   Good cultural venue and pub. you will feel safe there. Even if you are not a gay it is worth to go for one of drag queens performances.

   Asked if I'd been there before. We said no so the bouncer said it was £5 entry each. We said sod it and walked away. Why would we pay just to go in a pub? It was dead anyway. Deserves to close.

   Refused entry to this club just because I was wearing tight fit joggers instead of jeans. Was given a vague reason of “its policy” without being able to come up with any explanation as to why. Avoid.
