I had a lovely stay at Shard View Apartments! The location is absolutely perfect — just a few minutes’ walk from London Bridge, The Shard, and many nice restaurants and cafés. The apartment was clean, cozy, and well equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The view was stunning, especially at night when the city lights up. Check-in was smooth and communication with the host was friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place in central London. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Building was not in good shape and pretty dirty. The apartment itself was decently clean. Crumbs and trash found between the couch cushions. The shower did not drain and when I shared this with them no one responded. Left an item behind and no real effort was made to return it. Not great service or the most clean. Average to below average experience. Everything is also key code activated with no real locks. So not the most safe feeling space.

We stayed at the no.4 apartment with the Shard view on 13th September, for my Wife’s Birthday. Location was perfect for us. However upon arrival the area had a strong curry smell, which filtered up into the apartment. There was no air-conditioning in the apartment so we had to rely on only one fan in the room to try and cool the bedroom down as having the windows open meant you had the traffic noise and the smell of curry. Apartment set up was bizarre as the bedroom had the boiler system in one of the wardrobes. There were rust stains in the bathroom and the walls really could have done with a lick of paint. The WiFi system was shoved on a shelf in the hall with cables dangling down so a hazard. Overall the stay was pretty poor, bed uncomfortable, sofa in living space uncomfortable. Kitchen poorly supplied. There was no appeal factor for this apartment, had so much potential with the location, but as soon as you open the door to the entrance, all the walls had stains as you walked up the stairs. I would have preferred if I knew, for the money I paid, via booking.com, to stay at the premier inn opposite.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst Airbnb experiences I’ve had. This host has no business running an Airbnb. Everything about the stay screamed cheap — not frugal, not minimalist — just flat-out cheap. The place was barely stocked with essentials (no hand soap, no extra toilet paper, one towel), and what was there felt like it came from a dollar store clearance bin. If you’re just looking for (an expensive) four walls and a roof, maybe this will cut it. But if you expect even a basic level of hospitality, stay far away. This isn’t someone running a business — it’s someone trying to cash in without doing the work.

The location is absolutely brilliant, especially for London marathon weekend. We stayed at 19 St Mary at Hill for 3 nights during marathon weekend 2025. The marathon route literally goes right past the window. It’s such a shame that the apartment we stayed in (no.3) was in such a state of disrepair that it made our stay less enjoyable than it should have been. The photos look great but that doesn’t tell the full story. The property we were in was in tired and filthy condition, it hasn’t been shown much love in a number of years. I get the distinct feeling it gets a run round with a mop and the bins emptying before the next people arrive. The ensuite has a serious leak in the shower which is causing major problems with the floor tiles. When stepping on them you can see the water being squeezed up through the grout and that’s not all it has worked its way in to the bedroom laminate and door surround. These are visibly swollen to the point the threshold bar has come away and the door no longer fits properly inside the surround. I did try to inform the property of this but being a weekend there is absolutely zero contact with anyone. We couldn’t even use the other shower in the main bathroom as the door was missing! The kitchen was covered in a layer of grease and oil, everything was sticky to the touch. We purchased our own products to clean the place before preparing any food. The oven and hob were in desperate need of TLC but I wasn’t venturing there. The only response I got from the company, which was a day or two after we checked out, was “we shall inform the cleaning team”. Very disappointing and clearly couldn’t care less. Once they have your money they make it almost impossible to speak to anyone about any issues, very clever business model I suppose as there’s no come back from customers. I just wish I had continued with the hotel I had originally booked.

HUGE WARNING! The day after we checked out we received a message from JAMES the owner - informing us that we won't get our deposit back because the apartment was left in a very bad shape, he sent us a couple pictures that looked staged with whine bottles all over the place, tampons, every door on the cabinet was open, the dishwasher open and messy etc etc... Me and my friend was shocked because this wasn't even close to the reality!! We actually cleaned up after us, despite being charged £110 only for the cleaning fee... We then contacted James and told him we will take legal actions - luckily enough we had taken our own pictures and could prove with bank transactions that we never bought any whine bottles.. As expected we received an apology from James - claiming that this was a misunderstanding between him and the cleaning company.. Obviously we're not buying this and neither should you! The apartment itself had big problems, we couldn't keep the bedroom door open, the heater was noisy and kept me awake, the shower temperature was bad, water didn't really get warm. The living room window was broken and other things! Don't waste your money on this horrible place with bad owners.

The good: the location is great, lots of accessible transit, easy walking to lots of places, tons of food options. Beautiful view. The flat was very clean when we arrived and was cleaned nicely while we were here. It was not huge, but I had feared a tiny place, and it was roomier than expected. Urban Stay left a few little essentials (but see below in the bad) and a very cute bag with a few goodies for our cat and puppy. We did not have trouble with the wifi like others. The medium: the street outside is noisy. Urban Stay can’t do anything about this, but be advised this would not be a good choice if you are a light sleeper. Especially in the summer as you need windows open to sleep. The bad: although we were mostly left with supplies, it would have been nice to have a sponge to clean dishes and a few other small cleaning things (like a roll of paper towels and a broom). Agree with others that the furniture is all fine, but not great. Several of our chairs were slightly broken. The number of items is a bit stingy (for example, would have been nice to have more than 1 towel each, as a woman I like to have a body towel and a hair towel). I don’t expect to have AC, but as others have mentioned the large southern facing windows are nice for the view but it gets very very warm in the sunshine and certain of the flats have more limited ability to open windows (our windows only cracked open). We bought an extra fan and that improved it but think there should have been two provided in the flat (one for bedroom and one for living room). Overall, I’d still recommend for what they are, short term corporate housing.
