   We visit York regular driving 1.5 hours mainly for our lunch at Michaels. They have the best chicken and ham pie ever and my husband loved the giant Yorkshire pudding with liver. I rang and booked a table only to find the menu had changed!!! The menu is a lot smaller with all our favourites gone. The portions are also alot smaller but the price had gone up!. I always enjoyed the fish pie which was still on the menu so gave it a try. It was not a patch on the previous one. I'm sad to say without the chicken and ham pie and our other favourites we shall be trying elsewhere. What a shame. It was always something to look forward to in the past.

   Nice breakfast! While wandering along the streets of York in search of breakfast we stumbled upon this little delight. A nice and tasty full English breakfast with a good quality coffee were quickly consumed. Staff were friendly and efficient. Recommended.

   Very friendly helpful staff, lovely burger, the fish pie was huge. Would definately recommend. Choice of tables and cosy. Will return. Not overpriced. Pudding looked huge but sadly no space left to try.

   Quiet and cozy, modern interior and friendly staff. The food selection was of those favorite English favorites as well as a decent selection of seafood and other goodies. Inside is quiet and peaceful so you can have a conversation with ease. The place is near the Shambles and close to a lot of nice places to visit.

   Ah! I will always remember my meal at this place. It was truly memorable. The atmosphere was very very nice. I felt under dressed in my casuals. The staff was very helpful, service was quick. Good choice on the menu, also on the day's specials. Slightly pricey but well worth it. I will recommend at least one meal to anyone who goes to York. They also have rooms, if you can book one of those, even brilliant. Its bang in the centre of York, almost on the shambles and 5 minute walk from the Minster. And they sell the wonderful soaps they keep in their washrooms!!
