   We’ve been to Ambiente a few times now and it’s always been a brilliant experience with a great atmosphere. Everyone is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our server was Lorien and she was so lovely. The food was, as usual, absolutely delicious. 5 tapas between us was just right, but we’re not big eaters. The calamari was exceptional. We had a great time and will definitely be going again then next time we’re in York.

   Took the grandparents to Ambiente Tapas on Fossgate, what an experience we had! Our waitress was so lovely (didn’t catch her name) showing lots of enthusiasm for the food and drink they served as well as being extra friendly. Couldn’t fault the food - was spot on and was completely demolished. All tied together by a unexpected meeting of my grandma and the manager Craig, who knew each other for many years (unexpected but lovely surprise) 100% planning to come again, couldn’t fault the place.

   Lovely Tapas Bar serving a good selection cooked to order. Nice decor and atmosphere with friendly staff. Good selection of drinks including wine and sherry’s. We had the Sunday special which was good value. Definitely return when back in York.

   Wonderfully friendly team doing wonderfully polish food. We needed exactly everything they gave us from the delicious fresh, warm and filling food on a cold day to a bit of banter. It felt like we’d been going everyday for a year. Plenty of seating and make sure you try the delicious home made bread.

   Service was great from all the staff from greeter to server. The food wasn't as good I'm afraid, I ordered calamari which was over done and rubbery. The wife ordered 2 vegan options which lacked any real hint of flavours. The cocktails were nice, overall a little disappointed as some reviews raved about it, maybe the just an off day for the chef?

   A great restaurant - plenty of space with a great buzz upstairs and downstairs. The service was quick & attentive. There was a great selection of tapas including vegan options of traditional dishes including albondigas. All of the dishes are fresh, hot and very tasty. The portions are generous. We had a great dinner and look forward to returning soon.

   AMAZING! Best tapas I have had since Barcelona nearly 20 years ago. Also service is the best! Poppy was so friendly and welcoming. Really amazing service, she is a credit to the restaurant. We had only just got to York and she was so knowledgeable and helpful. I wish York was nearer as I loved it so much!

   Everything about this tapas place is excellent. We ordered 4 dishes each and could barely finish so portions are generous. All our dishes were really good but the green beans, the shepherd's pie and the chorizo were our favourites. The wine was really lovely too. Staff were excellent - attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.
