My husband went on recommendation to this shop for a replacement grip on his racquet. Not only did they do an exceptional job, extremely reasonably, but the knowledge of the staff is exceptional in racquet sports generally. Very very helpful indeed. Highly recommended.
Had my badminton racket restrung here. The service was good & reasonable price. However, when getting my racket out to play for the first time after being done I found that that frame had cracked and broken. This can only have been due to the racket being strung too tightly. A second break occurred without any use of the racket while simply sat on the side, further indication that it must have been due to string pressure/tightness. I contacted the shop and as the break didn’t happen during the restringing process they explained there was no help or compensation they could offer me. Never like to leave a bad review but unfortunately in this case, the job done here has cost me a racket that wasn’t cheap to buy itself. Would have to recommend avoiding for any restring jobs.
Excellent sports shop. Purchased new cricket bat and accessories. The owner was very knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive of local teams. It was refreshing to find a sports shop that actually sells sports equipment unlike what you see in most city centres these days. Proper shops like this are essential if you require quality items at a very competitive price and need to check them out before purchasing. Choosing something like a cricket bat should never be done online as there are so many variables to take into account, so it was great to weigh out the options available, and I have made an excellent choice. Will be returning as I need a new sports bag and cricket shoes. I will always support small businesses like this, especially when they provide such quality service.
It’s a mess in the shop and the girl who is care taking when the owner is out can’t find things.
We went there to buy a pair of tennis shoe and ended up 2 new pair shoes and new racket as Rich was very friendly from the beginning and he knows his stuff and extra bonus pointed the right direction of running shoe which wasn't in his shop. I couldn't recommend high enough this shop.
I played cricket with Rich. He was equally good value on the pitch and in the bar. If I need sports gear he's the first person I go to and the best (for me) on the Wirral in my opinion. He can provide advice on a number of sports and associated equipment because he plays them - cricket, tennis and hockey to name a few - he's competitive and helpful, and also sells online - there's embroidery for club badges and a plethora of other services you just don't get by clicking Amazon instead of thinking about such great local businesses first...
Really helpful guy that runs this business. His prices are very competitive and he is willing to try to match on line prices. I bought some Squash shoes from him together with a Racquetball racquet. Tried on three different makes of shoes which you cant do with online shopping. Support your local businesses if you can, that's why the high street is dying. I would have no hesitation in buying there again.
