   For me, I would definitely recommend this school. I am a parent of two children, both at the age of 11 years old. I have recently been looking at high schools across Wigan, and I must say that Shevington is the top school so far. The teachers and the majority of the pupils are very friendly and welcome every visitor into their school/work as part of the family and for those pupils who are new to joining helps them progress through their work and performing to a high standard due to the pleasant working environments. The only improvement I would suggest is to modernize some of the rooms as they do lack a bit of TLC. Shevington High School has been one of the highest performing schools in Wigan, and has recently been given a good report from Ofsted with some outstanding features, and the way that Ofsted are marking schools now, it's an impressive report and I would suggest those who are looking into allowing their children to join Shevington to have a read of it (It will be found on the Website). Recently, a new Headteacher has been elected for Shevington, Mr Grant, and it has to be said that he is a great asset to the team. Not only, has he brought in discipline to the school by enforcing strict rules, he has a connection with the pupils and tends to spend a lot of time with those who need that little bit of extra support to help them on their journey. And if you ask those pupils, they will tell you the same thing as I am about to now... He is a fantastic helper and his loyalty to this school over the past couple of months have really shined through, good on you Mr. Grant! I would like to mention the pupils now, in particular those who struggle to abide by rules set at Shevington. Obviously, there are always going to be pupils who misbehave, who seek attention, at every school you visit, however there is one thing that Shevington provides... And that's dedication to the pupils, the differing lesson plans, and the way knowledge is being taught at Shevington is outstanding. Shevington works with every single pupil, and sees the positivity within the pupils, and strives to make their work better, by supporting them with extra tuition, some year 11 pupils have a tutor for the subjects that they are not quite reaching their target grades at... I would most certainly recommend this school, as it's just fantastic! I had one improvement, and that's interior design... (That was just me being picky)!
