Found a dog wondering the street, in a scruffy state, obviously lost. Took her into my local vets and they refused to do anything. Thankfully reunited with owner via facebook now. Owner had even called vets and they advised they've "not taken any in". I'll l be de-registing my cat from that place ASAP. No duty of care unless they're taking your money!

So. After no phone call or email to discuss my cancellation and the reasons for cancelling my appointment, I have resorted to leaving a review so that everyone else can see how greedy this practice / business has become. In October last year we brought our dog in to have a cyst looked at. We were told just to keep an eye on it and if it got bigger, to let them know. In April 2025 the lump had gradually got bigger so whilst in Thirsk we had him looked at again. The quote for removal was Β£1575. Details were sent to chantryβs and I also asked them for a price based on our dogs examination at another vet. Chantryβs quoted the same price. We then went away on our trip to Europe for 3 months. Last week we noticed the lump had got bigger still. So, we took him to a vet in Trento, Italy. Amazingly the EXACT SAME operation, with us beside him before and after anaesthesia, with after care anti biotics, price was 250 euros!!!! 200 euros if paid in cash due to their tax laws!!! So, Chantryβs. Where is your care for animal welfare and how come you can quote a ridiculous amount for a routine operation!? There are poorer people than us who love their animals just as much as we love our dog but cannot afford your horrid quotes when operations abroad are PROVEN to be a fraction of the price! People, pet owners, use this group at your peril.

I'm migrating to Australia and my dog is coming with me. They've been so good with him and even managed to get blood samples from an extremely wriggly Border Collie without having to sedate him. They were also really helpful when completing the forms required by the export agent. I'd highly recommend them.

I visited Chantry vets yesterday for a routine appointment for my Dog, it was a lovely experience, the lady on reception was very welcoming and gave my dog lots of fuss and attention which he appreciated, she was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of my queries and offer advice. I was the last appointment of the day, I wasnβt rushed at all, the vet was really good, spent time to make my dog feel at ease before performing his health check and annual booster (he didnβt want to leave and appreciated the good boy treats!). To say it was the end of day, it was extremely clean. Great vets, I would highly recommend them

I have been on hold as caller number 2 for over 40 minutes just trying to get through to reception.....no one can be on the phone that long to make a simple appointment. What's going on???? Seriously....

Excellent service by all staff and vets though somewhat more expensive than my previous vet.

I love chantry vets! My little girl has just had her first litter of pups and the staff were on hand to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease!! We needed to take mum for a worry we had and again the staff were fantastic!

I would like to thank firstly the lady in the car park we met when we got there she met us as we had just had some very sad news we had just lost our dog Pedro bless him he was only 6 and a half years old she met us there so we could take him in the back door instead of taking him through the front door then me and my wife went through the front door to sort things out and everyone on the reception was very friendly helpful and understanding and we asked if we could have his ashes and some paw prints and they understood we was upset and gave us time to sort of come round or to our best to talk as best we could they couldn't have been anymore understanding or helpful and said everything will or should be ready with in 2 weeks and they will ring us. And another nice thing yesterday a card from them the post from them saying they was sorry we had lost Pedro and there was some forget me not seeds in what was a very nice gesture to do
