While the room was fine (double bed is a bit small for 2 people) and the decor is modern and comfortable, I was disappointed by the very easy and cheap to remedy problem of absolutely no choice of milk in the morning. I asked two different people (a chap called Basil and a lady with red-ish hair) and both confirmed separately that the only milk offered in the hotel is semi-skimmed. Neither my wife or I can drink this so this meant no ability to have a hot drink or cereal in the morning. For a hotel of this size and grandeur, I am amazed that something as simple as a choice of milk in the morning is beyond them. Unfortunately for this very simple to fix reason, we can't return as they don't cater to alternative dietary requirements and didn'tseem interested in helping - just a flat 'No, we only have semi-skimmed', which is quite astounding and very disappointing. This needs fixing and would cost next to nothing to implement and make guests feel included instead of excluded for a very simple dietary request. The hotel itself is very nice, its in a good location too, 10 minutes walk to Harrogate town, roughly 30 minutes drive to Leeds and York. So its absolutely not all bad, but for those with any level of dietary requirements, I would strongly advise to call the hotel to ensure the can (or won't) cater for you. I had given 3 stars, but I've changed it to 4 stars as the rest of the hotel is nice, but they need a better ability to cater to dietary requirements.

Awful stay. We wish we’d stayed in a Travelodge as we would have got some sleep and not stunk of weed when we left. The room needs renovating. Doors banging constantly until 4am. Walls paper thin and could hear the room nextdoor arguing at 2am followed by a very loud shower. Service was poor. On checkout we were asked how the wedding was, which we replied we haven’t been to a wedding and he didn’t ask/show interest in how our stay was. If he did we would have told him the worst part. Guests on our floor were smoking weed all night long. It was absolutely horrendous. The smell completely filled the corridors and our room through the inch gap under the door. We put towels down to block the gap but it was also coming in through the bathroom and the drafty window. We left smelling of weed and couldn’t believe how strong the smell was in the corridors in the morning. When we tried to ring reception there was no answer. We messaged on WhatsApp but nothing happened. Once we’d left and was sent a message to ask how our stay was, we told a member of staff who said next time we can have a deluxe room. Unfortunately, we will not be staying again. We didn’t sleep until 4/5am due to noise and smell and then got up at 7am, skipped breakfast and went to another hotel and had a wonderful breakfast. We travelled home asap instead of exploring Harrogate just to get some sleep. For the price we wish we’d gone elsewhere where.

Excellent Venue, Huge - ample car park which was inexpensive. Although we arrived at midday we were allowed to park for 24 hours for £8 - we visited Harrogate for the day - amazing mix of old and new. The Hotel was great, large and had lifts. View overlooking Harrogate from our room and the Sway from the front. Nice staff, great bar and good breakfast - and by good, to be fair it was great. Breakfast staff - excellent. Easy online check in and check out - although key card would not work to start - it was no hassle for us or them. TV, free wifi and coffee tea - shower and bath allowing a nice relaxing soak in the evening.

Hotel is lovely from the outside and the location is a nice short walk to the town centre. However, once inside the hotel reminded me very much of a premier inn. We stayed during a storm and we presumed there must have been a damaged roof above our room as all we could hear was banging all night which led to a very disruptive sleep. We were then hoping for a relaxed morning, yet the walls were so thin we were woken by the adjoining room toilet flushing, shower running and very early conversation. We were also suprised that we had to pay an additional charge for parking, and to open the blind to a view of a car park and a skip! Overall,we would not return to this hotel and would not recommend to others.

Fantastic 2 day stay. Hotel in beautiful grounds with plenty of parking. In a residential area within easy walk of town centre. Love an old hotel that has been modernised. Friendly helpful smartly dressed staff. Room was comfortable with all the facilities you require, including a fan. Clean and modern. We were on the back which was quiet. Breakfast had a good choice and was fresh. We had an evening meal, served in a lovely restaurant. Will definitely stay again. No complaints.

Stayed December 2022. Rooms are very shabby and basic. The bedding was very thin and didn't fit the bed properly. We asked for another blanket, which never arrived. The evening meal was served in the 'Elf village', yes Elf village! Whilst we ate we were surrounded by 8ft high children's festive screens. We are a couple in our fifties and it felt like we were eating in a school dinner hall.We had to send the evening meal food back as it wasn't hot. Breakfast is buffet style, which is fine but the food was not hot just lukewarm. Some of the communal areas could do with a good clean (lifts, windows, partitions) When we checked out the hotel had automatically added a gratuity charge to our bill which was removed at our request. We would not recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in good condition throughout. Staff are really good and the restaurant is very impressive. Menu is varied and service was good the room we had was big, clean and in good order. It is only a short walk into the town centre, but its set back from the road and you don't hear the traffic. We'd stay their again. But check for deals first.

Check-in . . Straightforward, informative & friendly. Room . . Clean, fresh, with every amenity you would expect. The only downside was that it was very warm, but a more than adequate fan was provided, and we slept with the window open. Food . . We ate at the hotel on the first evening, but unfortunately the restaurant was full, so we had to make do with a bar meal which was adequate, but not exciting enough to make us want to eat there again. Breakfast on the other hand was 1st class! Everything that you could wish for, displayed and cooked to perfection, and served in a beautiful dining room. Location . . 10 - 15 minute walk into Harrogate depending on how quick your legs move. Staff . . Every member of staff we met were welcoming, & friendly. Probably the best we've met at any hotel recently. Would we return? . . Most definitely! And we'd recommend it to our friends and family!

For the price you pay, I will not be staying again. The rooms were pretty basic, clean, but minimal. Taking a shower feels like something out of crystal maze, you turn it up and it takes so long to heat up that you do it more and finally it reaches the desired temperature and keeps going, and its the same trying to cool it down! Stupidly you have to pay for parking even though you are an overnight guest, for £5 per night. The breakfast was seriously lacking too, what was there of it anyway. The food was average but it was almost always all gone, you had to time your moments if you wanted a full plate. Didn't get a chance to sample a full English, more of a half English as the key ingredients were not replenished fast enough. The service was pretty slow throughout our stay, seems more of a shortage of staff than the individuals themselves though. Special mention to Libbie for being a star, went above and beyond for our party, can't be praised highly enough! Overall we did have a nice weekend and the location is brilliant but the value for money is awful. You really don't get what you pay for and I would advise checking out other hotels in the area before booking this one.
