My teenage son and his friends go swimming here every Sunday after closing time during a private male only swimming session. They love it. P.s. the picture is taken from the backside of the building. Free parking is available at all times.

The ladies only exercise classes have fantastic teachers, especially Jennifer and Maria. Their energy and positivity are infectious and they make working out fun. There are not enough risers for everyone during some classes, or enough small mats, which is not fair for people who have booked and aren’t able to do the exercise in the same way as everyone else. I had to use the last mat which was broken in half, while some went without. Some of the regulars will push past you to grab extra things for themselves without any consideration for others. Instructors are not strict enough to people hogging extra items of equipment or for people sneaking into classes who have not booked. Please invest in some more equipment so there is enough for a full class. The hygiene could also also be improved. I’m not sure the mats and weights are ever cleaned in the studio. The spray for people to clean them themselves has been empty for weeks.

Womens gym good, not that big but equipment is good, nothing fancy. Lots of ladies classes available although some turn on the music way too loudly. Sauna is nice. Ladies swimming (main reason I joined): it's not lane swimmers friendly, the only time where you can swim nicely is at 9pm which I think is too late. All other sessions are learning and kids hang out sides. They leave a tiny lane for the ladies who actually want to lane swim and its not very pleasant as its too narrow and difficult to overtake. Most sessions are also always completely full and it's difficult to get a slot, you have to wait for cancellations on the day. Also, they pack us like sardines which makes it worse, I remember one time 9am it was lane swimmers and there were like 5 lanes or so and was super crowded. I think more ladies sessions should be added as they're clearly very popular but the managers responses to the raised issued fell on deaf ears. Moved to another venue now with purley lane swimmers hamdulillah. Since swimming was the main reason for joining I give 2 stars, the other gym stuff is Good and if u don't care about swimming ull be fine.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. The Jim has recently been refurbished as have the sauna and steam room. The yoga classes are wonderful. The price of membership is very reasonable and she would be hard-pressed to find better value for your money an excellent way to look after yourself and improve your health.

Overall, Sparkhill Pool is a really nice facility — the pool itself is clean, well-maintained, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed coming here for lessons over the past few months. I’ve made great progress and now feel confident swimming in deep water. I’ve even swum the full length of the pool with my husband during mixed sessions without any issues. However, during the women-only sessions, I’ve found the attitude of some lifeguards quite disappointing. One in particular has been rude and unreasonably strict. When I tried to explain that I feel confident swimming in the deep end, I was told that if I continued going there, I would be banned unless I took more lessons. This feels unfair and comes across as a way of pushing people to spend more money rather than supporting their progress. I completely understand the importance of safety, but lifeguards should also be polite, professional, and encouraging. Their role is to ensure safety — not to discourage capable swimmers who have put in the effort to learn. A more respectful and understanding approach would make the experience much better for everyone.

A brilliant leisure centre, with a great class timetable. Lots of new availability for swimming lessons too- great news! The staff are incredibly friendly, always willing to help with any enquiries and the centre itself is very clean and clearly well looked after. Worth every penny!

The staff are really approachable and friendly. The gym really caters for its community with a whole range of female only classes and swim sessions. Prices are really reasonable for what is included. There is a car park nearby with free parking on side streets too.

Amazing service with my PT Henna, who I have had previously and have lost weight by following her diet and fitness plans. She has been good at pushing me to my goals that I have started more sessions with her and I continue to receive support to push me to my goals even more. I personally recommend her if you want to lose weight and reach your goals quickly.

Good price for a well equipment gym. Also the personal training sessions are worth recommending. My pt journey with Bilal has just begun and it’s been a fantastic start. He has been brilliant in working with my specific needs and truly understands what is necessary to help me meet my goals. It hasn’t been that long but I already lost weight. He is always at hand when needed, responds to messages quickly and is really good in making you feel motivated.

Can't say it's a bad place. But due to personal experience and some management related stuff lead to think that may be this place doesn't worth spending time and money here. Rules and limitations are good if you are only a fitness worm. If you have you work or other life activities as well it could be hard to utilise the place properly.* It's my personal opinion may be suits you well. You can try may be things suit you.
