We went for food here recently and I can't say I was impressed and felt ripped off on my dish which was, lamb rump with vegetables. The vegetables were green beans which were fine and potatoes but they were horrendous and I'm convinced frozen. Just thin, tasteless slices of potatoes. The jus was thin and tastless and the lamb was OK. Another member of the party has suet pudding with mash potatoes. The suet pudding was good, very tasty. A few things that were ordered looked frozen and reheated. Not good for the prices being charged. The pub itself is lovely, in a beautiful location and it's friendly. Staff are really nice but seems not enough of them.

The room was dusty, not clean, windows and glass containers in room unclean, no water in room or many drink sachets. Cobwebs on the walls, around toilett etc. Breakfast was not set, the young person went and got 3 cereal containers of cornflakes, nutty cornflakes and some sort of dusty museli. No drinks served at breakfast. Asked for toast it came but I wouldn't call it toast, hardly toasted. Very disappointed no wonder they ask you to pay be for you see the room. The place was damp, carpets ripped etc. Cups not clean. The bathroom wasn't even one a tiny space just enough for a toilett , sink and shower, had to dry in bedroom.

Can not recommend this place enough. Had a meal for four. We all had selections from the Yorkshire Tapas. 5 items for £20. Food was well cooked. We all was stuffed with little left. Will definitely be back. We sat outside as the weather was nice and we had the dog. Landlord was lovely. Those who had a beer was impressed with the choices.

Brilliant place, it was my wife's birthday and was on a trip out exploring, we popped in on the off chance, for a meal and they kindly gave use a table, remember this also fell on mother's day, lovely friendly staff, and of course, we was tracking the "Last of the summer wine" old haunts and somewhere on my mother's side comes Bill owen, as her name was Rowbotham. We will be returning very soon, I would recommend this pub, lovely meal too. And great value for money and features many times in the series.

Lovely place, room clean and spacious couldn't fault it. The food was amazing, friendly couple who run it, we would definitely stay again.

I've been here a few times, as I'm a big Summer Wino. On every other visit, I've been really happy. This time, however, was different. The service was excellent, but the food wasn't up to the previous standard. I'm very sorry about writing this review, and will be back, but I hope the food is back to its usual quality next time.

This has been a great place previously but sadly, the most recent visit was very disappointing. We called in from Holmfirth for dinner, expecting the usual great quality. Unfortunately, we were left severely disappointed. The beer battered fish was very bitter to taste, suggesting a poor choice of beer used. The fish itself was overcooked which caused its consistency to be closer to paste than fish. The taste of the fish was also bitter. The chips were also overcooked, a lot! However, the portion size was good. The chips were reasonable in size but they were still inedible. There was no choice of garden or mushy peas, garden peas were given. The overcooking also led to excessive amounts of grease on the plate. With generous portion sizes, if the food had tasted better this would have been an incredible meal. As it was, most of it was left uneaten.
