Please pay no attention to the app suggesting your taxi is β€˜booked’. They seem to try to arrange a driver about 30mins before the time and make no attempt to contact you if they have problems. We missed our event. Hopeless booking. Nice drivers Won’t be using again

We were so impressed with this company and specifically with a driver called Simon (BMW 2019 M sport). My oldest son left his phone in the back of the car on the way back from the Little Fox. We didn't realise for a couple of days and drove the 130 miles back home. When I rang the phone, Simon answered it. He had bought a charger to keep it on and then he posted it via Signed For. He didn't want anything in return. Just sometimes you meet someone like Simon that restores your faith in humanity!

Where does one even begin with this dysfunctional operation? Issuing discount codes for December may look generous on the surface and it is briefly appreciated, yet those codes are functionally worthless when there are persistently no drivers available, particularly around West Kirby and Hoylake. The wait times quoted in the app are routinely wrong and often bear no resemblance to reality. The app itself looks like it was designed by a blind primate. It is chaotic, unintuitive and actively aggravating to use, creating the strong impression that usability was never a serious consideration. Drivers frequently dump fares back into the queue, inflating delays and turning what should be a simple journey into an exercise in patience. Argyle’s response is to repeat the tired mantra that drivers are self-employed and therefore beyond control. That line is pure nonsense and serves only as a convenient shield against accountability. It signals a business unwilling to take responsibility for the service it advertises and takes money for. The downward spiral is now visible to anyone paying attention. Drivers are leaving, availability is worsening, wait times are growing and service quality continues to sink. Leadership appears either indifferent or incapable, neither interpretation reflects well. By contrast, Uber simply works. The app is reliable, journeys happen when promised and getting from A to B does not involve unnecessary stress. Faced with that comparison, Argyle offers little more than frustration dressed up as a taxi service.

Avoid this company if you want to get anywhere at all. Pre bookings arrive up to an hour later than the scheduled bookings. Drivers picking up then dropping bookings when they realize it's a short journey and "not worth their time" as one driver told me. One time we where left waiting for over an hour in the rain for a taxi and the operator told me it's because the booking kept being passed to different drivers because "no one wants to take the booking" which is absolutely ridiculous. Stick with uber, might be more expensive but at least you'll get to your destination on time.

Argyle cabs must do a serious scrutiny. The app works fine but the drivers are irresponsible. I had scheduled the cab for 8 am. The app assigned the driver at 7:45, driver was 13 mins away but did not start until 7:55 and arrived late for pick up. I have attached the screenshot as proof. The price I have paid does not match the service. For a 108Β£, I expected the driver to reach on time atleast. And the drive wasn't very pleasant either. I reached the airport feeling uneasy and nauseous. Really bad service. Hopeless to be frank.

Old driver decided to seach my 20 yr old daughter out on FB and 'follow' her on FB after she used the app to order her taxi journey this morning. I complained and the company were supportive and acted immediately to block this driver from picking her up again; but it has still left both my daughter and myself worried. I have informed Wirral licensing dept for clarity as I am unsure whether this constitutes a safeguarding or a data protection issue. Only ever had problems with timekeeping before from this company. Drivers have always been great. But this one .... yuk.

I use the argyle taxis app to book and yet again I received no service. I needed one this morning to get to work. I booked the taxi via the app at 06:00 a.m and by 06:45 a.m I was still waiting for one. Although I appreciate that there aren't as many taxis on a bank holiday and so early in the morning, what I don't understand is why the driver accepts my journey and then cancels it? After 45 minutes of messing me around, I cancelled, accepted that I will be late for work and took public transport. I have been told that taxi drivers don't like to accept trips requested via app because they prefer cash as cash can be pocketed and no declared. I am dreading the anticipated stress of having to rely on taxis for work due to lack of services.

Tried to book return journey from Manchester Airport but your card machine wasn't working, said someone would ring back. Still waiting. Luckily we don't need cab until January.

Abysmal. Taxi pre booked 8 hours in advance. When taxi was due I received a message to say taxi, a blue Toyota, was outside waiting the correct venue for us, but it wasn’t as we were outside waiting for it. Spoke to the driver (when I called HQ the message said your taxi is waiting for you press 1 to speak to driver) who said he’d be with us β€˜in a minute’. Waited for another 5 minutes, then a blue Toyota arrived but picked someone else up, despite me speaking to the driver at the time whom sheepishly said speak to HQ. I spoke to HQ who said I’d cancelled the taxi and they couldn’t help. . A total shambles from disingenuous people who couldn’t care less. We only got home thanks to the generosity of a local person who saw and heard what went on and drove us back home and refused to take any money. I’ll never use these sharks again.
