   Last weekend I stopped by with a pair of horse riding boots that I wear when out competing. One of the zips had open and I thought I’d have to cut it open, eventually I was able to get the boot off. I stopped by at HE Payne in the hope that the boots could still be saved but prepared for the worst news… (boots shopping, time to move on). After taking a quick glance at it I was asked if I had a couple of minutes, it was literally 2min and the boots were returned, saved and with a smile. I absolutely love this place! A family run business, a welcoming environment, great customer service and fantastic skills. I would recommend this shop to anyone that just like me is not too keen on purchasing new things and willing to restore their old shoes. Support your local businesses, keep these amazing skills and traditions going! :)

   Incredible craftsmanship, a shoe repair others had said repeatedly was not possible, this includes multiple cobblers in London, Nottingham, York, and Llandudno in North Wales! H.E. Payne and Sons have fixed my beautiful Prada peep toes, which had earlier had a botch job done when I took them for heel tip replacements in London, made worse by a second cobbler in London, who tried to fix them and got not one but two drill bits stick in the heel shaft and cut the heel!!!!! They come back with the original heels intact and all done with minimal fuss and maximum professionalism. I have been so impressed I am about to now send my Barbour boots to be fixed, another one everyone has said is not possible!! Thank you also to Natalie who handled all the communications and set my mind at rest!

   Wow! what can I say. I am extremely impressed with the work that H E Payne has done on my shoes. I damaged them whilst trying to remove a scuff mark which caused the colour of the shoes to lift. I was really unsure as to whether they could be restored at all. I researched shoe restoration companies and generally the charge was extortionate. This company restored my shoes to a very high standard and there is no evidence of the damage caused. In addition the cost was most reasonable. The customer service is brilliant and helpful. I can thoroughly recommend H E Payne

   Absolutely brilliant service. Took in a brand new long leather boot for a zip repair which had been badly damaged by our pup who enjoyed the taste of leather and a crunchy zip! I was greeted with a friendly, professional chat about the best way forward (new zip or repair) and chose the latter for the very reasonable price of £12.50. The boot is as good as new with such a perfect finish, you would never know it had been damaged. Will definitely use again and would highly recommend.

   Wow where do I start - Matthew can certainly 'put his talents into anything' he is very friendly, knowledgeable and obliging and his expertise and Craftsmanship is second to none. I would also like to mention lovely Natalie who is so friendly and efficient and very welcoming too and has excellent interpersonal skills. A big thank you to you both. Matthew recently repaired my beautiful soft leather jacket that I really did think was beyond repair, as my belt buckle got trapped when I tried to get out of the car. As a result there was a straight tear at the side of one belt loop and a hole at the side of the other one, it was a mess! Matthew scrutinized the damage thoroughly and I could tell he was a perfectionist the way he was examining it and accessing my jacket. It needed to be practically dismantled, so it was going to be a challenging repair, but he said he 'liked a challenge' and this did not faze him at all. When I collected my jacket a few weeks later I couldn't believe my eyes! The repair Matthew did was absolutely amazing, you cannot even see that it has actually been repaired. Thank you so much , your Craftsmanship is superb. I would highly recommend Paynes to anyone seeking genuine specialist repairs. Matthew is not just the 'Greatest Shoeman' but an extremely talented young man, where perfection is a testament to his success.
