    I was shocked to see today (Sat 11 Jan 2025) the signs up saying the store was closing down today. Staff despite losing their jobs were pleasant and helpful and I wish everyone well on their future endeavours. A splendid shop with brands like rieker, clarks etc -also my late mother loved this shop for her shoes and the great service as she was partially sighted and staff very attentive to sizes/ correct fit etc

    Rude owner refused to exchange a faulty pair of children's shoes. Never shop here again. Found out shoes were £10 dearer than original Clarks shop.

    It’s very rare that I write a negative review. But on this occasion, I felt I had to. I bought my wife 2 pairs of boots from this shop. She wore one of the pairs to walk back to my parents house, which was 15 minutes away. The pavement was wet but she avoided puddles. When she got home, her feet were soaking. we returned the boots the next day as they were clearly letting in water through the soles, although we couldn’t see any splits. The shop assistants couldn’t have been nicer, but the manageress was a different story. She was both rude to me, my wife and my daughter. She made nasty, snide remarks and was constantly whispering to her colleague. She generally treated us with contempt and was extremely rude and obnoxious. She refused to refund the £2 difference in price, when my wife chose a different pair of boots. My family and I have bought from this shop on many occasions in the past, but after this experience, we will be spending our money elsewhere.

    I was very disappointed on Thursday 26th of August 2021 to find your store shut at 16 50 not 17 00 as your website states. Why advertise that you are open until a certain time when you are clearly.not open until this time? Very disappointing

    My daughter went to this shop to have my grandsons feet measure today Friday 4th December she left without purchasing any shoes today as the measurements we’re for myself to go and purchase the correct size for my almost 2 year old grandson. Unbeknown to my daughter a member of an Simms staff followed her into town and into another shoe shop and stood behind my daughter and said DONT COME IN MY SHOP FOR FEET MEASURING AND BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE. My daughter was absolutely shocked and embarrassed as plenty people heard the woman speak to my daughter. My daughter went back an Simms to make a complaint she spoke to the owner of the said shop and his reply was you can’t make a complaint because I am the owner and the member of staff in question is my wife. During to conversation he repeatedly referred to my grandson as IT!!!!!!!! even after being corrected he continued to refer to my grandson as IT. DEFINITELY WONT BE USING THIS STORE AGAIN. I will NOT recommend this shop to anyone ever. Looking into reporting it to trading standards and local media
