   What a lovely pub this could be if only the staff could be friendly and polite, and maybe give a smile or 2. What we experienced was the bar maid slamming chairs around near us, slamming empty glasses around and just being very aloof when spoken to with the worst attitude iv ever seen on anyone in hospitality. Turns out her boyfriend was blind drunk slumped over in the corner of the pub. Not family friendly and not even the manager had much to say or a smile when we brought this to his attention. So unfortunate but we will not be returning to this pub because of this particular staff member.

   Great pub, food is always really nice and staff are lovely. Emily serving today. On site parking and music not too loud or overbearing. Perfect for an afternoon meal.

   Often visit here for a pint of Guinness. Dog friendly in sections, bar service. Somtimes play some music but this is mainly a food pub. Had the chocolate fudge cake which is delicious. Recommended here if in the area

   I’ve been in recently for a couple of drinks. The pub is well presented, with clearly a lot of effort going in to its decoration. The staff are quite attentive for a busy pub and they’ve foster a nice atmosphere The manager was about and seemed to be really knowledgeable about his ales. I didn’t have any food but I would come back for some in the future.

   Brilliant pub, would recommend to anyone. Food is absolutely delicious as well as the staff being very attentive. Go quite regularly with my partner, and usually get the duck noodles , they are absolutely to die for. Atmosphere its self is very homely, beautiful during the summer with a lovely outdoor seating area. Can’t wait for the winter when the fires are lit! Thank you for such a lovely visit !

   We love being able to order from the table. Drinks always really quick to arrive and service very pleasant. Food was really tasty and would definitely order same again. Only negative was the time we had to wait for desserts, had to ask someone to check on them as we'd waited for a while but they were with it!

   We enjoyed 2 courses from the very reasonably priced set choice menu: 2 prawn cocktail starters and a roast dinner each. The food was served by a pleasant waitress, it was well presented and tasty. The only issues were that there was quite a long wait between courses (understandable as it was pretty busy, but a couple more waiters/waitresses would not have gone amiss and would have relieved the pressure on the busy staff), and the kitchen ran out of roast beef. I was lucky to get the last portion and my husband had to opt for turkey rather than the 2 meat 'larger appetite' option on the menu. Have you considered taking food orders from the tables? We were approached several times to see if we would like more drinks, so I doubt it would involve much more effort to initially take food orders too - it could increase sales and would definitely add to customer satisfaction with the service?

3. Nothing Wrong with Being _YOU (Smiffy) ★★★★★

   Once again, we are really, really happy we chose the Crown Ember Inn to celebrate a friends birthday. For the vegetarian, the sweet chilli noodles were very tasty and plentiful. The sea bass with potatoes and asparagus were cooked to perfection and the very filling camembert burger with chips went down a treat. A massive 3 thumbs up from us! The chef did a fantastic job!!! Antonia, the new server was a delight to know, as were Ben and Jake at the bar. Very friendly staff all round. Must thank the manager too....for getting the pub up and running in such an efficient way. Great job!!
