Something about this place brings out the best of Barnsley. Visit in the morning for lots of smiles and friendly "hellos". I really like this place. Coffee is great from the shop (love the side window for ordering) and the playground is good too.

No idea why google decided to delete my review but will try again. This is as good a park as there is, excellent play area for children and loads of space to dash round in. A really nice cafΓ© with a good selection of foods etc that's worth a visit. I believe the toilet facilities should be larger but I doubt that happening so the existing ones are it. Lovely place to stroll around but I am definitely not happy with dog lovers who don't bother to clean their pet's offerings, truly ridiculous and dangerous to children, not to mention shoes. Well worth a visit.

Lovely large park. Went to the RoundTable Bonfire. Great night we'll organised and recommend for next year

I visited Locke Park for the parkrun. It’s a pretty and well maintained park. There is a bandstand, cafe, a children’s playground, open green areas, and trees. The park is hilly and at the top is a historic tower. The tower is fenced off but opens to the public on certain dates. The highlight of the park, for me, was the fairy garden. It’s a small area but there is so much to see. The artwork is detailed and really well done.

A lovely park with a cafe, bandstand, MUGA, bowling club and tower dating to the later 19th century. Great for dogs. Cafe serves dog ice cream as well as human ice cream. The staff are friendly and polite! They also host the local park run on a weekend. The last time I visited there was a travelling fair with lots of rides, so also a likely venue for touring events.

Great day out with the kids. Lots of stalls to walk around. A huge classic car show to walk around. And a fun fair for the kids. Food and drink venders on site , toilets first aid. Plenty of parking.

First visit, really impressed. Nice for a walk. Good paths, well tended parkland and trees. Good selection of swings close to a good cafe.

First time visiting this park today with my husband, granddaughter and our little dog Eric. What a lovely park, plenty of parking. Wide open space for dogs and children to run. The only down side today was two grown women fighting in the car park and police officers trying to break it up. There are lots of pathways to explore dotted with interesting stone pillars, band stand and other buildings. A lovely children's play area and lots of bins for a change. A bowling green, a football pitch and public toilets. Well worth a visit but try to avoid the car park brawl.
