“I was downsizing and wanted to sell my 4x4 and came across Evans Halshaw. Got a price online and booked an appointment. I was initially slightly put off as it was in a Morrisons car park. Nevertheless I chanced and travelled down from Leeds and was greeted by Danny. Great guy, very professional and friendly and he was a pleasure to deal with. My car was inspected, we agreed a price and completed the paperwork. That's it very simple and straightforward. Danny also went that extra mile and found out train times back to Leeds and dropped me off at the station. Great service, great experience and would recommend. Thank you, Danny. “Nice walk around the well maintained park, cafe on site with a play park for the little ones. Parking at the bottom of the hill to walk through the gardens is free ans has ample spaces and there is also a mini golf course on site. Toilets could do with cleaning more regularly but at least they're there!”

“My friend had an emergency appointment after being in so much pain with an infected tooth that they could barely function and hadn't slept in days, so I managed to get them an appointment through 111. In no time, the lovely dentist Fiona yanked that tooth out giving my friend much needed relief. Staff (including reception) were amazing, and my friend was given clear instructions on how to care for the wound. My friend managed to get sleep, finally. And the day after, there is still no pain. “Booked Ultrasound Direct after my 2 local private hospitals offered services a month later. Ultrasound gave me a date in 3 days in Barnsley which is not far from my home town of Sheffield. Not the easiest place to find but find it I did and with no waiting time and a very efficient Ultrasound experience I was on my way in 30mins with report and images in hand. Well done all, a very pleasant and efficient service.”

“I visited Locke Park for the parkrun. It’s a pretty and well maintained park. There is a bandstand, cafe, a children’s playground, open green areas, and trees. The park is hilly and at the top is a historic tower. The tower is fenced off but opens to the public on certain dates. The highlight of the park, for me, was the fairy garden. It’s a small area but there is so much to see. The artwork is detailed and really well done.”

“Popular with our granddaughters ; a lake to walk round, ducks and geese to feed. An exciting playground for toddlers to 10 year olds. A bridge for pooh sticks, chatty fishermen; a lovely afternoon.”

“We came for an event day, and there some stalls selling local produce by the cafe. There were free guided tours of the mill, and you got to make your own flat breads and gingerbread to try. Walks round the mill pond and reservoir are stunning with lots of ducks to feed.”

“❤️ Lovely walk, clean and quiet. There is a fishing pond for those who fish, lots of little paths through woodland areas. Great place for a stroll, very scenic to say its in Barnsley town centre. Enjoyable for dog walkers, there are paths for when its wet, but gets muddy off the beacon track if you dont mind muddy feet. There are picnic benches around the pond, but the downside to this gorgeous place no rest room facilities along the way. There is also a skateboard park and plenty of parking.”

“Phoned as I needed a ball joint for my car... Admittedly I had called two other suppliers that did not have stock... Spoke to Ellie who was very efficient and friendly and gave me price options on different brands... Kept them on reserve for me to collect later that day. Upon arriving at the store the lad on the counter was serving a gent who ordered parts but made a mistake with his order and changed his mind again which took a while to sort... Said lad on counter was very patient with the customer although a queue had formed... Upon seeing this one of the guys from the office dropped what he was doing and came out to help... Again very friendly and efficient... Had the parts in stock and was cheaper... Great service... Staff should be commended.”

“Definitely better than the 4.3 average stars it currently has. It's a touch tired in the changing room area but my daughter and I loved our visit on the whole. Something for everyone and every age group, our 1.5 hour time slot flew by. The three main flumes were fast and thrilling without being terrifying. The diving board area was good fun. Normal main pool with lane swimming section. 4 lane waterslides to race down. Definitely be back and we live an hour away, so I think it's worth the drive over.”

“Visited here on the 2nd October to celebrate our toddlers birthday and the entire family was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The building is warm and welcoming; the seasonal display in the entrance cafe is adorable and the staff are polite and approachable. The family changing rooms are very convenient and kept to a good standard. When entering the pool, was pleased to know it was a good temperature and the entertaining features in the children’s pool were such a hit. The little one was smiling from ear to ear the entire time and we had a great family swim. To finish off a lovely day out, we had warm drinks (shout out to my amazing oat milk pumpkin spice latte) and food at the cafe. Lola stood out amongst the staff working this day; she was so polite and accommodating of our dietary needs- the little one has multiple food allergies and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and all carried out with a smile. Thank you for an amazing day out!!”

“The staff here are fantastic. After a rather trying journey up from Kent Jess and James were so friendly and helpful when we arrived. All other staff were great and there was a lovely atmosphere. Very easy to park in the car park and get to the hotel. Cheap parking too!”
