Great park which is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Chesterfield ( Over a bridge from the town centre ). Cricket pitches forms the central focus , with more than enough seating around to watch the match . There is a small gauge railway ( takes passengers round the duck pond ), Called “Puffing Billy”. A band stand with some good spots for picnics or general relaxing on a nice day . Lots of waste bins dotted around . Children’s play area with adequate toilet facilities, and Queens Park Cafe next to this . Well Worth a visit in any weather

Lovely park, nice cafe with toilets. No parking from what we could see. Had to pay to park. Lovely little train, reasonably priced at £1.50 per person. Had a good few hours here. Only downside is quite a hill in parts.

A beautiful well kept park. Lovely to walk through and lovely to sit in when the weather is nice. Has a café and ice cream van. Plenty for kids and in summer, puffing Billy the train goes around the lake.

Went with the kids to kill some time and got alot more than we bargained for. Went for a walk around the cricket field, on past the cafe, toilets, and playground. Round the lake (unfortunately miniature train only runs during the school holidays so will have to go back when we're over next time) and back to the ice cream van. Headed up to another playground where they also have all weather soccer pitch. But to top it off for the kids, there was a funfair which was just opening, made their day. Watched some cricket before we left. Spotlessly clean. Suitable for wheelchairs and budgies. Plenty of space for picnics.

A green oasis near the centre of town. Good facilities with plenty of all weather pitches. The lake is a haven for wild fowl but the islands need a little pruning (in my opinion). The children’s train ride around the lake is an interesting feature. In summer the cricket pitch provides an interesting diversion when there is play, it’s a shame that first class cricket is rarely played their anymore.
