Came in today to buy a Betta fish. The lady who helped me was absolutely amazing. She was extremely helpful when giving advice and very nice. Some of the best customer service I've received in a Pets at Home in years! The only thing that could be improved is that the team seamed to be extremely understaffed for the amount of customers that were in the store. The staff were very nice, however it seemed necessary that more team members should've been on shift to attend to all the customers. This would make sure that staff aren't over stressed, and customers are served in good time. Hopefully in the future they can have more staff on in the evenings.

Went in with our 5 month Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, we made our way to checkout and a member of staff advised we need to let them know if we are bringing our dog in as a nervous dog was having a harness fitting. Unsure how this is something that we can control. Pets At Home make it very clear pets are welcome and have never asked for this “permission before”. This comment was made during checkout and was completely unnecessary and came across as passive aggressive. We had complete control of our puppy and didn’t go near the nervous dog once. A shame as most of the staff are lovely, but after this we won’t be returning any time soon.

I recently visited Pets at Home after getting my new puppy, and I have to say—it was a surprisingly good experience! While I did feel that some items were a bit on the pricier side compared to local shops or online stores, the quality of the products definitely made up for it. I picked up quite a few essentials in-store—crate, puppy pads, toys, treats, dry food, bathing products, and accessories—and everything felt reliable and safe for my pup. What really stood out to me was their no-questions-asked return policy. I had to return a couple of items that didn’t work out for my puppy, and the staff were super understanding and helpful. Zero fuss! On top of that, I accidentally left my sunglasses behind in the store. I called them the next day and—believe it or not—they had them safe and sound. I popped in and collected them without any issues. Big thumbs up for their honesty and customer service! Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety in-store—you can find everything from fish and hamsters to cats, dogs, and even insects (yes, really!). It truly lives up to its name: Pets at Home is your go-to spot for everything pet-related.

I came in today to buy a harness for my dog and was welcomed by a lovely staff member who offered for me to try the harness on my dog before purchasing and was really helpful when I was deciding. I was also welcomed by another member of staff at the till who was friendly too. I’m never disappointed by the service when I come to this store. Thank you to the two women who helped me, apologies that I didn’t get your names!

(THIS HAMSTER CAGE IS NOT SOLD AT PETS AT HOME) Me & my partner went to this pets at home this week looking to home a Syrian hamster. We asked the staff if we could have a look at some hamsters and decided on what hamster we would take home, the lady very arrogantly asked if I already had a cage & I told her we bought the cage online, she then asked for a photo as some cages are not suitable which I agree, however the cage i showed her was the cage Iv listed in this photo & she completely refused to let me take a hamster home even tho this cage meets the minimum for a Syrian hamster with floor area 4074cm squared. After trying to explain this and showing her a photo of past hamsters in a similar cage she still completely refused to sell us a hamster as she said the cage is not suitable for a hamster and will basically have no entertainment. Iv done a lot of research on hamsters as Iv owned them for years. That woman who works there is willing to sell them tiny plastic houses as suitable cages but wouldn’t sell me a hamster. Silly woman knows nothing & shouldn’t be working there, I went to another pets at home and I showed my cage to another worker who was absolutely lovely and said our cage would be just fine for our hammy & so edge lane I would suggest you educate your staff on proper hamster care & attitude to customers. Pets at home in general only sell one cage which is the hamster heaven which meets the correct dimensions for a Syrian hamster

Came here yesterday to get some fish I got 3 cardinal tetras and have noticed today that one of them has two fungus spots on it so have to put it in a separate tank to not spread in my tank. I do find fish from here don't last that long whereas I have fish from other places and I still have them in my tank still healthy. Also hamsters I studied animal management and I can say the cages for hamsters pets at home provide are not big enough they only sell small ones so parents can buy them for their kids and It won't take alot of space up.

Very disappointed in the fish tanks in store corys gasping for air all hanging around the top of the tank. Remains of dead fish in the bottom of the tank. Dead fish stuck to filter Half dead or sick fish being nibbled on by other fish as no one is removing them Water flow in some tanks are nonexistent and need sorting as soon as possible Fish in tanks with no label or price Staff could not be seen until you leave the shop and had no time to listen.
