   Thankyou for your kindness and compassion. .As a family after 16 years of loving our amazing dog Poppy we had to make the horrible decision .    Took my dog here a couple of weeks ago. He was diagnosed with issues with his hear and lungs. I was relieved to have a diagnosis (albeit heartbreaking), my previous vet before house move to the area dismissed my concerns. Medicine was administered and all at reasonable prices. However, this vet is not one for compassion. I know some have mentioned that they like his straight talking manner, however I didn’t appreciate the abruptness or the sarcasm with regards to my dog (an emotional time for us, especially with my step daughter also in the room). Upon a second visit a week later (responding badly to the meds) we didn’t know what to expect as the first visit was very rushed with no actual discussion. We saw a different guy, much younger, and much more compassionate and friendly. During this appointment though we heard the first vet (John) treat his staff with disrespect. Perhaps there are courses on how to talk to people that he could look into. We expected the new meds to give our dog a little improvement and to keep him going. He died two days later.

   We took an injured seagull here in the evening after finding it with a very bad wing. We were unsure whether any vet would take it, and we knew it didn't have a chance however being put to sleep by a professional is a better fate than dying to the elements. I didn't catch the name of the young lady at the reception but she was very lovely and understanding, had no problem at all with us bringing the seagull in and she was polite and respectful. It's nice to still see people with empathy for these birds and she really eased my worries for the poor thing because I have no doubt that it was treated lovely until its end. Thank you!

   I was very happy with the treatment and surgeries given to my two dogs! I found the staff friendly helpful and kind! John is a wonderful vet who says it as it is! I don’t need head patting I needed a proper vet and this in my opinion is what John is! Sadly I was persuaded to change vets and I regret this very much! I wish I had stayed!

   Have used Rhianfa for years John Ickerton is a very good vet has always looked after my dogs without failure I find them reasonably priced friendly reception staff and spotlessly clean Have used for a c sect, puppy injections and a broken leg ect ect over the last 15 yrs years never let me down even at 2am Thank you guys your a fantastic team !!!
