   I waited a few months before writing this review just to be sure the repair was successful – and I can now say it was absolutely perfect! A few months ago, the team repaired the 7-speed DSG gearbox on my Volkswagen Arteon, and since then we have even driven all the way to Croatia without a single problem. The car runs flawlessly, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the whole process. I genuinely appreciate their work and highly recommend them to anyone!

   After a two month battle with Evans Halshaw, the part was ordered and I was aware it would take approximately 1 week to arrive. Dropped my car off at Chester Automatics for a replacement Mechatronic unit. I received a call from Kieran the next afternoon to let me know it was ready. Professional, helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this company and will be taking my car here when the gearbox service is due. Thank you to the team.

   I took my car down and Chester Automatic did a temporary repair job on my gearbox to keep me on the road. They have now replaced the selector cable. Everything was done on time and on the quoted price. I really pleased with their service!

   Suspected water in gearbox. £60 for diagnosis. Result was no water evident in gearbox,but require recon box at £3200. Actually,gearbox was full of water as gearbox cooler had split. Fixed my original box for £1000 elsewhere. Suspect they didn't even look at it. First impressions count,so won't be back.

   My Ford Mondeo auto box failed near Heathrow and was a recovery job. I travelled home in a hire car and had my car delivered by RAC to Chester. They were very honest and upfront about what was probably required and the cost. I authorised them to start asap and although they said there could be a delay before starting, I had the car back within a fortnight with a fully working reconditioned gearbox. I have recently returned from a drive to France that included a trip to Andorra up and down the mountains to 2,400m altitude without missing a beat. Great company, great job. It cost a fair amount but it’s what they initially quoted me so I can’t complain.

   Absolutely made up with the gearbox service I had done here. Professional staff, quick work, not only that, they were good enough to point out an issue on the inside of one of my tyres that I would never have seen otherwise and would’ve no doubt been a catastrophic failure at some point.
