Somebody actually put it looking like this out of the oven and into a box, without any hesitation - instead of cooking new pizza. One star is generous. Please ensure staff are actually of sound mind to send out completely burned food unashamed. Disgusting
We live super locally so keep giving them chances as we’ve had some great pizzas from them in the past, but today’s order was really the final straw. We’ve had pizzas with missing ingredients, pizzas with almost no toppings or cheese, pizzas with wrong ingredients, pizzas that were almost raw, and today, pizzas that were completely burned. This place is nothing short of a disaster and you absolutely cannot expect quality or consistency.
I’ve been eating at Pizza Geeks for many years now and both the service and the food were exceptional, I would regularly recommend it to people - citing it as the best pizza in Edinburgh. I’ve noticed over the past year or so the service has gotten slower and less attentive however my most recent visit is what prompted this review. We arrived at the restaurant for our booking and were gestured towards the table. Ten minutes later the server came to take our order. We ordered our usual choices. We waited for our drinks which did not appear, after 15 minutes I approached the server to ask for these drinks, these were then brought to the table with a grumbled apology. The food arrived for the table next to us, who had obviously been waiting a considerable amount of time and I immediately noticed the quality did not look to be up to the usual standard. Their pizzas looked burnt and far smaller than normal. After nearly an hour our own food arrived and the quality was equally disappointing however our pizzas looked small and undercooked. When I mentioned the size of them to the server I was simply told that they were using dough straight out the freezer and this had caused the pizzas to shrink in the oven. My pizza was raw in places as can be seen in the below photograph. During the near hour wait for the food I saw repeated Deliveroo and Just Eat orders go out promptly. I also saw our server bluntly tell any walk ins that they were no longer serving. Clearly delivery services have become the top priority for this restaurant and sit ins are very much second class. After a disappointing meal I went up to pay at and felt I should mention the dissatisfaction to the server who would tell me his name was Caleb. Rather than giving any sort of genuine apology for the issues raised he decided instead to get rather confrontational and aggressively tell me that they were trying their best, they’d been super busy and were using ‘bad dough’ (quite why Pizza Geeks is serving bad dough to customers and charging full price I don’t know). I couldn’t believe after such a disappointing meal that the server would then argue with me over what he clearly realised was an overall bad experience. I paid the bill and left. Sadly, I won’t be returning. I’ve supported Pizza Geeks for many years and it’s a shame to see it fall so far from what it once was.
Officially we've now eaten here three times on two trips to Edinburgh. At first, it was a place we knew our kids would eat (pizza of course!), but since that first visit, it was because we loved the food. This place serves up pizza like it hacked into my flavor preferences and rewrote the code. Blue cheese and sriracha on a pizza? I didn’t know I needed that combo in my life until now. It’s like a delicious dare that paid off big time. The vibe? Geeky in the best possible way—like if your favorite comic book store started serving artisanal pizza and had a solid Spotify playlist. Super friendly staff, too. They make you feel like you're part of a secret society of bold flavor enthusiasts. Bottom line: go there. Bring friends. Brag later.
Very nice pizza with different than normal combinations. The dough is really good. Server really tried his best although he was alone and is was so crowded.
Had a great lunch here. The staff were amazing. Friendly fun and helpful. Food was great. I ate vegan and it was fabulous. Recommend to everyone... just go!
We went for a birthday dinner and it was at best ok. There were plenty of staff and very few tables, but the service, whilst ok face to face, was terribly slow. The pizza was a pizza, no complaints but nothing to write home about. The diet cokes we had were simply cans, and one of the beers was introduced as being warm. We agreed we wouldn't return.
Most definitiv the BEST pizza in town. Not only is the interior of the shop really geeky and cool, personal is very friendly and we never had to wait long for our tale away order. The pizza is just to die for.
Not loads of options for vegans but actually decent food so it doesn't matter. Staff seem lovely, good range of drinks. Just wish I had space for dessert too. Love the nerdy decor as well.
