It all started when my friends and I wanted to eat some Italian food, to remind us of our motherland, which weβve been away from for one week already. We tried to make a reservation everywhere, but this was the only one that could accommodate more than 5 people (we were a group of 7). So once we had arrived, the waiter led the way to our table and IMMEDIATELY asked us whether weβd fancy some drinks (THIS is the service Iβm looking for!). We all agreed to get some quick and easy tap water and it was finally time to look at the menu. The menu is rich (I donβt remember if there are any vegetarian/vegan options, my apologies). I noticed, as soon as I was reading through the manu, that the prices were a little high for the Italian standard. But after ONE (and I really mean ONE) bite of my pizza, a βValtellineseβ as we would call it back in Italy, I understood why of the βhighβ prices. IT WAS FABULOUS. One of my friends ordered a Margherita, which was good except for the quantity of mozzarella on top. There was a little too much, I have to admit. Service: simply amazing. Talking about the restaurant per se, it has a welcoming atmosphere. Nevertheless, the type of furniture and its disposition play a big part in the experience, and Iβd suggest to review something. Anyway, it was a very pleasant experience.

A restaurant tribute to the Edinburgh born artist Paolozzi. Great atmosphere, the decor full of Paolozzi works of course. We did have some initial disappointment, as the menus posted by users on Google are old and they no longer do the pasta dishes, it's mainly for Pizza. However the pizza was excellent (with lots of salmon) and so were the small plates we tried.

Update:revamped menu Pietro sausage pizza doesn't have the chili paste anymore which really affected the flavour. Beef lasagne was pretty decent Original review: Pietro sausage pizza was great, they're really potent w the sausage umami and the chili paste made from minced pork which has some actual heat. Quite unexpected given the general tameness of Scottish restaurant food. I definitely recommend this particular pizza, although their dough is more the fluffy but still dense type which means not much crispiness. Ravioli daily special was not good. The gorgonzola (it honestly tastes like Tesco's camembert if not for the hint of blue) in the sauce didn't mix well with the pumpkin puree within which was mild and of a completely different flavour profile. It's very disjoint Come for their pizza w savoury toppings

The owner greets you upon entering then will proceed to seat you and provide you with a menu. Soon after he will come back to take your drinks order. After drinks a different server came to take our food order. I had a pizza and it was absolutely delicious. I tried their special menu ravioli and it was amazing just like the pizza. The drinks were good and it was a bar so had alcohol. I also had a tiramisu which was a really good dessert. I would really recommend going to this Italian restaurant if you want Italian food.

Recently came here for lunch with a friend. The focaccia was stunning and my friend loved her ravioli main meal. The pizza was nice but the toppings fell off it every time I picked it up and it just was a bit too wet for me. The service was great and our waiter really friendly. Would return.

5 star, when you hear itβs Scottish Italian you are intrigued, and think β¦ is everything a pasta supper ? Well it didnβt disappoint, nice atmosphere, no students in sight (freshers week), great staff, they accepted us as walk-ins but I would definitely book as it seemed quite popular. And the food was genuinely lovely, not expensive either!

Fantastic food. Ultra cool decor and great, great staff who helped make it a memorable works festival night out. I had Pizza Gorgonzola & Speck and it was absolutely delicious especially when washed down with a couple of pints of Paolozzi Helles lager. Definitely worth the 5 star review

Near the Edinburgh Uni / Museum part of town. Food is good. Portion is good size. Service is good and attentive. The pizza came out beautiful not burnt. Pasta was delicious and full of seafood. The special was seafood of different types. Good and light seasoning bringing out the taste of the food and freshness of the seafood. One or 2 mussels were, in my opinion, just under cooked but it's hard to judge for mussels. Mocktails was refreshing if you are looking for an alcohol free dinner.
