Although my tour is only at the initial planning and procurement phase, I have had excellent service from The Adventure People. In particular, Riann has been top-notch and responds quickly to any queries or requests that I have sent her.
Terrible experience - feel like I've been scammed. They were super responsive up until the point I paid them money. At that point, the sales person I was in touch with stopped responding to my emails. I was told I would receive confirmation within four days as to whether my booking would be accepted. This did not happen. I had to keep contacting them via Live Chat on their website to get updates. Eventually after chasing twice, they told me that my booking could not be confirmed and would be cancelled (again - only after chasing, they did not notify me on their own). Despite this - they're still selling the same tour for the exact same dates that they cancelled for me saying it was not actually available. Would not recommend this company (they prompted me to review them... which I'm not sure why) and would be weary of what they're 'selling'. Really hope that my refund comes through.
To start I rarely leave reviews but really don’t want others to have the experience and stress that I have had with dealing with this company. I booked a 12 day Vietnam tour with the dates they had advertised and paid for the tour immediately in full… They had advertised on there website that there was only 2 spaces out of 18 left for the group tour so felt like I had to move quickly to secure the date they advertised. After full payment was made an email was sent to me stating to wait for confirmation that the tour is even going ahead and would I like any later dates? I explained no the dates you have advertised fit in with my itinerary and am confused now that your even advertising a tour that’s not 100% going ahead and that I’ve paid in full for. After me chasing with emails and there online chat ( Phones won’t accept calls from customers already booked )get told 24 hours before the tour is even ment to start the tour is not going ahead at all. Can’t believe how unprofessional the service was and now have to wait for my refund to be processed before I can book elsewhere. AVOID
Jorge Montero was the most amazing guide and CEO. Nothing was too much trouble, he was so thoughtful, helpful, knowledgeable and patient with my group. Jorge explained the trip and the rich and diverse history of his beautiful country of Costa Rica with such passion and enthusiasm, and also shared his detailed knowledge of Central America and his own roots and family links. I’d like to say sincere and heartfelt thanks to him for bringing the trip alive, finding truly memorable activities for us- I’ll never forget my zip lining experience or the river safari. What a way to celebrate a big birthday!
Cannot say enough good things about the booking experience with The Adventure People. Charlotte who helped assist me was wonderful, giving me so many options, and stopping me from booking an trip that might not geo ahead! I would add that it is a little misleading to say departure guaranteed on all the trips if it isn't guaranteed, but your team are well equipped to deal with that and it didn't stop me booing with you. When I wanted to settle the balance, Olivia D did it in about 2 minutes, on a SUNDAY which is commitment and I literally had to do nothing on my end. Wonderful wonderful experience from start to end. Charlotte spent so much time with me on chat with the different options and trying to fit it into my schedule. Above and beyond service and she deserves a raise! I can't speak to the quality of the expedition as I have yet to embark on that journey, however its with a third party anyway so doesn't particularly reflect upon this group. 5 stars all round
We were so beautifully communicated with by The Adventure People - and this despite our uncertainty regarding dates of travel and frequent requests for alternative tours. We were even provided with holding times of 48 hours to enable us to get our family act together! Will definitely book via The Adventure People again. Thank you Callum
I have given a lower review as I was disappointed in the information received after discussing booking flights and pre/post accommodation. I found flights online for significantly cheaper than the flights proposed after doing my own research. The agent was also unable to give further advice as to the fitness requirements of the trip and only pasted information from the online page which I and already read and is quite vague. It would have been helpful to been offered a range of flights available (I appreciate that not everyone will want to select a budget option) and agents should ideally be able to provide additional information about a trip if asked specific questions. In the end my question was answered when speaking to another agency. However it was helpful to receive information about who had already booked the tour and have an agency able to support flight booking on top of the tour.
Tom Hamilton was really great, he arranged a personal video call so I could ask all the questions I had about doing a tour with The Adventure People. He was very patient with all my questions and a complete professional.
New company to me....first impression is very favourable. Quick to respond, helpful. Just booked Best of Galapagos - 10Days for New Year 2023/24!
