   A great trip combining the heritage and antiquity of the Mediterranean in the north with the wild expanses of the Sahara in the south. The tour operation was well planned and co-ordinated. I was met on arrival in Algiers and transferred to hotel where I met the rest of the group. Islam, our tour manager was meticulous in facilitating and arranging our day tours, local guides and Airport transfers. The hotels were of a high standard and the Tuareg guides took good care of us in the desert camps and provided delicious food. I would highly recommend this trip and Algeria as a great destination to visit

   My experience with Untamed Borders was absolutely outstanding, perfect from the first communication until my return from Afghanistan. The itinerary options were well thought out, carefully planned and discussed with me. My time in Afghanistan was maximized to experience different regions, locations, foods and encounters. Untamed Borders provided a hassle-free, expedited service to obtain my Afghan visa in Dubai in a few hours, which I appreciated. I was provided with clear, detailed information, instructions and tips to best prepare myself. I met my guide Mohammad Jan, just outside the airport as planned. The Untamed Border team's planning and coordination and my guide's professional service and care made the entire adventure enjoyable, relaxing, anxiety-free and reassuring. The drivers chosen were safe, professional and kind. The vehicles were in great condition and comfortable. Some of my unforgettable experiences in Afghanistan were the Buddhas of Bamiyan, the thrilling buzkashi game and blue mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif, the many markets, the spectacular drive through the mountains, the many colorful, lively markets, the inspiring discussions with Mohammad Jan, the delicious food and the hospitality of the Afghan people. In Afghanistan, there are regular checkpoints to go through and registration processes, Mohammed Jan navigated these with efficiency and ease. I highly recommend Untamed Borders for their knowledge, professional expertise to provide such a seamless, unforgettable and safe experience.

   I have been traveling with Untamed Borders (UB) for over ten years now. I was the sole guest booked on one of their first trips to North Ossetia, Chechnya and Dagestan shortly after they started offering these trips and James, the founder of UB, accompanied me. He has excellent contacts there and we were even invited to a Chechen wedding complete with guns! It was one of the highlights of this trip. UB has also been the tour operator tapped by the prestigious Extreme International Travel Congress (ETIC) to run logistics for events in Somalia and Iraq. I participated in the latter in 2018. James has organized skiing in Iran and marathons in Afghanistan, Somaliland and other remote locations. If you are an adventurous traveller with a particular hobby you want to do in a remote location, UB can usually make it happen. Other agencies are happy to offer extra hotel nights as add ons to their package trips if you can organize your own hobbies, but they aren't keen on asking their local contacts to help you with unusual requests considering it a time suck. By contrast, UB, relishes these types of requests. I hold the world record for scuba diving in the most countries. It is therefore important to me to be able to dive in some very remote places. James is always keen to try and help and has got me diving in Puntland, Somaliland and Somalia (Mogadishu). A planned dive trip to Afghanistan's turquoise lakes was only derailed due to the recent change of regime there. James even suggested I procure a floating compressor (I had never heard about this) to dive remotely. When the airline mislaid my diving equipment, his ground agents saved the day by arranging my dive with local lobster/turtle divers using crude garden hoses tied to diesel compressors! Not for the faint of heart but these were truly memorable dive experiences. I'm booked on UB trips to Pakistan and Libya which will include diving, and UB are seeing if they can get me diving in the Dhalak Archipelago in Eritrea later next year. Prices are fair for the unique destinations. Safety is taken seriously and the administrative details, visa and logistical support I receive from this agency are always excellent. I can highly recommend Untamed Borders.

   I had a very good trip in Lybia with Untamed Borders. They were very helpful and professionals from the first moment helping me to get the VISA. The trip in Lybia was excellent and the guide with a lot of experience, we didn't have any problem at all and i enjoyed the country, especially the roman ruins: Leptis Magna and Sabratha, both wonderful. I definitely will choose Untamed borders, to do another complicated trip.

   As an adventurous and frequent traveler I joined Untamed Borders on a tour made individually for a small group of very frequent travelers. Untamed Borders got us the required letters of invitations etc for visas. They made the best programs for the three countries making three days in Sudan, as much as on a week of experience. Mostly they ensure good local partners, very reasonable advice on security and a feeling of being safe because if the reasonable requirements.
