We went here for dinner for my birthday and had such a great experience. Everything we had was so original and bursting with flavour! We had the gochugaru margarita which went down so smooth, started the meal off perfectly. For food we had the oysters which were so fresh salty and delicious, we had the steak tartare which stole the show for me, it was rich, really moreish and I loved the dried seaweed and ginger so you could make your own seaweed wrap. The squid ink sourdough was also very tasty, super savoury/umami, the karrage chicken was so tender, the mayo was really tangy and paired perfectly. The vibe/atmosphere was perfect, low warm lighting, vintage furniture with the vinyl dj playing 90s hip hop /r&b. Service was overall really good, staff were really nice/attentive. We were a big group and for the size of the place they were very accommodating. Will 100% be coming back, can’t wait to see what they have on the menu next!

Had a tasty lunch here last week. I was feeling nostalgic of the chazuke I had had whilst in Japan so went to scratch an itch. The food was tasty with the tsukemono, silken tofu and nori being very flavourful and tasty. I went for the spicy plum tofu on a recommendation from a friend and was very glad with my choice. I think the only slight downside was there was a lot of rice, which is great in terms of portion, but was a little out of proportion with the rest of the dish. Next time I think I'd go for the teishoku. I also ordered the ube cream iced matcha latte which was a little disappointing. There was very little matcha taste considering it's £7.20. The ube cream was tasty and could've been the whole drink and I'd have enjoyed it more I think. The dinner menu looks good so I'd go back to try that too.

Food was good, although it took a bit to come out but it was really busy and I only saw one person working I had the pumpkin spice matcha which was nice but my friend got the matcha with ube cream and it was so good!! matcha french toast was nice but took a long time to come out, my friend got the kimchi toastie way before my french toast came out. so by the time my food came out hers was stone cold. also the matcha cream was very bitter i didn’t massively like the seating arrangement, was super close to other people to the point where all i could hear was their conversation. A girl had a drink before us at the table and the cup was there throughout our meal.

Food there was so unique delicious, I had never tried anything like it! I will definitely be back and recommend it to friends. Cocktails were also very unique and delicious. We went there quite late for dinner time, which perhaps is what made the service a bit slow. When it went past 9pm the place became more of a bar vibe with louder music and low lights, which was fun for us but if that’s not your vibe I’d recommend going there earlier. Yet to try their breakfast/brunch but for dinner I’d recommend this place which is an excellent addition to Gloucester rd!

Fast and polite service, (not table service but this is fine). Cozy environment and all dishes made with care, presented beautifully and fantastic variation on the plate and depth of flavour. Staff were great and the whole place has a really chill vibe. Pros: Quality of all food and drink was amazing., Really fast service., Staff were really nice. Cons: Seating arrangement is not the best., A little expensive £35 for two breakfasts & drinks

The food was simple but cooked well, prices were high. 2 thin slices of miso aubergine came to £10 and 2 very small fillets of mackerel for £14. I felt a bit ripped off because I was expecting a meal rather than high costed tapas. The menu could do with a suggested order quantity.

Very disappointed... I had karaage fried (burnt)chicken Don. It was really really dry to the point that I'm not sure if it was thigh (as it should be) or breast! Rice was good but the rest I wouldn't recommend.

High expectations after the other reviews, but the food had quite the hill to climb after a 90 minute wait. Seems they spent that time on cooking the chicken alone. Thank goodness for the moisture from the cucumber salad. Was offered a refund which I refused because I do wish them all the best. They can and will do better I'm sure, maybe I timed it wrong.

Lovely pop up restaurant. Would highly recommend the Karaage (both chicken and cauli are mouth-wateringly crispy) and the fresh cucumber salad. Also the loaded Katsu fries are fantastic with a cold pint from the pub! Have been back many times and will go again.
