   Had dinner here at the weekend with my friend. First time and I will for sure be back. Lovely atmosphere, nice decor, not cramped or crowded at all. The menu has something for everyone and it was a really nice and relaxed place to sit, eat and chat. I went with a burger and dark chocolate torte for dessert, both were delicious and I’d highly recommend. Staff were very attentive ☺️

   What a find. My son recommended their 8oz Sirloin Steak and my goodness was he correct. Certainly better than Hawksmoor and other Steak Houses down town Edinburgh and a darned sight cheaper. We added their peppercorn sauce and some onion rings which would have been a meal on its own. You will not leave The Paper Mill feeling hungry that's for sure. We were made very welcome from go. We will definitely we back. 10/10.

   Incredibly slow service considering the place was empty. Fish and chips although crispy was very lacking overall. Both our drinks tasted off but we chalked that up to the gun not being fresh. Overall not super happy but not the worst experience ever. Food was fine but absolutely not worth the higher price tag.

   Great restaurant. Will definitely go back again to try the other dishes. We arrived without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. It was in the week so I’m unsure how busy it gets over the weekend. The portions were big - so much that we were unable to do desert. The service was great.

   We were staying in Dalkeith for our upcoming wedding in Scotland. I was looking for a place to grab dinner our first night. This popped up on my search and it sounded great. We drove a short distance and about 6:30 PM went into a relatively quiet establishment. The decor was fantastic! Place is very sharp looking. But it was the food that was really really top notch. From the haggis appetizer and the halloumi cheese, to the meatless burger and battered haddock! Everything was top notch. The drinks were also very good and the service was fantastic. Thanks so much for making our first night in Scotland a great one!

   What a great atmosphere, I was here doing a job supplying my photo booth for customer's having a birthday event, but stayed and had a drink in the bar. Great staff, great atmosphere and overall great experience, didn't have food but it looked awesome and will be definitely bringing the wife some time soon.
