We went here with a group of friends for lunch prior to Christmas. If you are looking for somewhere just a little different this could be for you. It isn't in town, the decor is simple, there isn't much daytime parking but its easily reached by bus - 31 or 14 or on foot from Potterow. The menu is also a little different, lots to choose from and the dishes were tasty and temptingly presented. We chose ftom the Β£27.50 Xmas Lunch menu. The chowder starter was delicious and the duck, venison and seabream mains didnt disappoint either. The service was just right, friendly but not over fussy. Very efficient. Theres an optional 10% service charge for groups of 5 or more. In this case we thought it was worth it. We would definitely go again. Closes 3.30 until 6pm

My wife and I recently had dinner at this lovely restaurant and it did not let us down. We opted for the 3 course Christmas menu at Β£28 per person and it was great. My wife had risotto to start, followed by haggis parcels finishing with Christmas pudding. I had the aubergine hummus to start, the smoked haddock fish cakes and the flourless chocolate cake. The taste in all the dishes was delicious and the portion size was spot on for a 3 course dinner. The staff were really cheerful, polite and very swift. It was maybe a bit too swift but I appreciate that at this time of the tear table space is off a premium. Highly recommend this restaurant, it has super tasty food and very good value.

A group of us went for a friends special birthday and they were not very accommodating. We weren't aloud to bring our own birthday cake. They said we wouldn't order desserts if we did. We arrived 5 minutes early we were not allowed in so had to stand in the cold. My friend wanted to pre pay the wine. Not allowed so they could add on service charge when they presented the bill. It's a shame about their attitude as that's 10 folk that won't be back. The food however was very tasty.

We just had a fantastic meal at Blonde. Started off with some juicy marinated olives with complimentary brown bread and butter. We opted for a very reasonably priced bottle of Sancerre which was perfectly chilled, smooth and velvety on the tongue. I had a delicately steamed fillet of trout that topped a stunning salmon and spinach risotto. My partner had the mouth watering breast of chicken with dukkah rub, with a very flavoursome sultana, almond and lemon cous cous. We finished with a cheese board of french and local Scottish cheeses with piccalilli dip and chutney, washed down with dessert wine. Superb. Highly recommend.

At the time of writing this review, I'm still in the restaurant, it's because I want to express my feedback while it was fresh. I called to book a table just 10 minutes ahead and we very quickly got a table reserved. On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely lady who took us to our table and she was looking after us throughout the stay. We were quickly offered and served the wine and the food order was taken also very fast. Rioja wine they serve is to die for, so good! Our meals came in really fast intervals, they looked tasty and tasted even better than they looked. Simply delicious! The price is probably the lowest I could see in centrally located in Edinburgh. Only Β£16 for 2 courses and Β£19 for 3 courses lunch. So so affordable! We were in Blonde restaurant a few times before and each time they do deliver. Highly recommended!

Came with my other half on 3rd May and really enjoyed our experience here. Both the food and service was amazing. Having water with bread and butter brought over straight away was a great touch too. Really nice little place with great service, food and atmosphere.

Absolutely great food at a really good price. We tried several main dishes here and all were fantastic. Delicate sea bass fillet, tender chicken breast enriched by pomegranate seeds, tasty sauce with lamb meat balls, and they together made the popular duck confit relatively less impressive. Quality starters as well, we particularly love the seafood chowder. And the desserts were mind-blowing, probably among the best we have ever had. The chocolate cake was exceptionally delicious, donβt miss it.

Tried to book several places to eat but then hit upon this restaurant. It was a 30 minute walk but as soon as we got in we felt welcomed. Water was brought to the table as a matter of course and the bread and butter was lovely to start with. I had the trout and pasta with crab paste and Sally had the filo pastry dish. We added a side of coleslaw with apple and pomegranate. Both mains were delicious - as was the coleslaw. For dessert we went for the poached pair for Sally and key lime pie with added roasted plums. Again both were an excellent blend of tastes without being too sweet. Staff were excellent. Attentive but not overbearing. Again an excellent blend. If we weren't eating out at family we would definitely have gone back tomorrow.
