Went out for dinner with the booking at 7pm on Friday evening. The food was delicious but the staff member/manager with the white shirt had an attitude with the way she took the empty plate when finished, also she wasn’t happy and didn’t smile. It clearly shows that she didn’t want to be there. I would have given it a 5 if it wasn’t for the staff member/manager attitude. Which is a shame because I like and enjoy the place.

First time visit for us. Booked in for lunch 3 adults and a toddler. There is plenty parking. You need to pop your reg into the little screen as you come into the restaurant. We were greeted and seated by James. From the get go, he was super friendly and honestly made our visit. None of us had been before so decided to give it a try, there is a decent size menu with starters, mains and desserts. The kids menu is quite good too. We were seated and a high chair was brought over to us. James also handed our toddler a crayon and activity booklet. We ordered our food and drinks at the bar and it was delivered pretty quickly. The food was reasonably priced and yummy. All of us enjoyed our meals including our toddler. We had mentioned to James at the bar, it was Dads birthday and we were out treating him. James, the absolute superstar, appeared at our table with a happy birthday note and a wee gift for my Dad. He was so chuffed with it and he said “you wouldn’t get that at Toby’s” haha. James also come over to check our food was ok. It was a bit quiet but still had a nice atmosphere, the food and drinks were bang on and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and I’ve no doubt we will be back if we pass by again.

Local pub with good value meals. Tasty food, lovely staff. Very accommodating for allergies / intolerances too. James is an absolute star - always brightening up the atmosphere, thanks for great service.

Great for a family lunch, they are open the whole afternoon. The haddock and chips was great, everything else was fine except for the crispy prawns which were a bit disappointing. The menu has calories listed, and there is free refills of beverages.

Went for a quick and easy Roast Sunday dinner in limited time. Met the needs. Quick and easy from ordering to be being served. Good quality food and portions.

I only called in for breakfast, although I was staying at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park. I was checking out the location of the Premier Inn next door in relation to Dalmeny Station as I would be staying there for two nights at the end of December. I easily decided that walking from hotel to station was out of the question. A bus that linked to Edinburgh would serve very well.

Stopped in for some dinner with a friend as I’ve previously eaten year pre pandemic and it was very enjoyable. Sadly tonight’s experience didn’t match up. Ordered a rare 8oz steak and it was closer to well done. Food aside, staff were quite friendly but they did look a little rushed

Staff were lovely, very welcoming. The food was great, tastes good and came out quickly. Cookie smores dessert was lush. Highly recommend. Will definitely be returning.

We stopped off here on our way home. The service and site itself were brilliant. We felt like we were in a 5* restaurant staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back if were ever in Edinburgh again. Thank you for sending us home happy
