Now, let me start by saying: if you’re looking for a Chinese restaurant in a glamorous location… keep driving. But if you’re up for an adventure and a full stomach, Louise’s Kitchen is a culinary oasis tucked away in what can only be described as the "arsehole" of town (their words, not mine – there's literally a sign). It’s the kind of place that makes your sat-nav cry a little, but ohhh my, is it worth the journey. First up: the salt and chilli battered chips. I’m not exaggerating when I say these were life-changing. Crispy, spicy, salty, and potentially illegal in several countries due to how addictive they are. I briefly considered proposing to them. The noodles and rice? Spot on. Packed with flavour, not oily, and just the right level of “yes I’ll definitely regret eating this much but I don’t care.” And the crispy chilli beef? Good lord. It was spicy enough to register on the Richter scale. My tongue was in therapy afterwards, but in the best possible way. Staff were absolutely lovely – friendly, helpful, and didn’t judge when I ordered enough food to feed a stag do. There’s plenty of parking nearby too, which is a plus when you’ve entered what feels like the Bermuda Triangle of takeaway spots. A few fruity characters hanging about outside gave the place some local colour – think "small-town charm with a hint of madness" – but nothing too wild. Just added to the experience really. In short: Louise’s Kitchen is the kind of hidden Chinese you almost don’t want to tell anyone about because it’s that good. But I’m telling you anyway. I’ll be back – probably next weekend. Possibly tonight.

Top tier Chinese takeaway! The Battered salt & chilli chips are absolutely banging! Everything we ordered was fabulous! You can only pay by cash which I think they should tell you over the phone, so you are prepared when you collect it. Highly recommend
